Arawn probably killed his father whilst being under the control of someone. Even still, trying to kill his siter was not cool.

After watching the subbed version, I can honestly say I am relieved to know Arawn is still alive. It seems only fitting Arthur would run away after that; after all, he is a warrior bound by oaths and he also took an oath to accept Arawn as his king. In doing so, by attacking him, he broke his oath. By rights, he has shamed every shred of honor and dignity he had as a gael.

It is unfortunate and exciting at the same time. This is the perfect foil for someone like Arthur who lives by the tradition of his honor. For one, he has taken perhaps his first oath when he was a child, to avenge his father. That promise has nurtured his strength and skill and in many ways, the impact of his father’s death, coupled with the murder and the promise he made, have all made him into the warrior he now is. When you stretch out something like that, and pit it against the oaths he’s made as first warrior of the Gaels, it really is an impossible choice.

On one hand, if Arawn was infact the murderer of his father, that Arthur upheld his first and perhaps most important oath in avenging his father. At the same time, like i’ve mentioned before, he’s cast away the oaths and status of his rank and place in the Gael army. He’s thrown away his right to be Rhiannon’s brother. He’s thrown everything away, all for what has perhaps made him what he is at the present. Taking all of this into consideration, even though it was greatly disturbing to see him in such a state, I have greater respect for him for being true to his oaths and upholding his very first promise. Arthur is a character defined by his honesty and his honor. When that honor was brought into conflict, unlike most people, he didn’t throw away his duty or his responsibility; at least not the one that was most important to him, the honor of his late father.

Thus, while he destroyed his honor as a Gael and as a brother, he maintained his honor as an avenger of his father and the oath that made him who he is. Especially if Arawn recovers afterwards, the damage is done and seeing Arthur going off as a shamed warrior of justice, broken from his tribe but bound by his own oath to defend his people from the shadows, that sounds like a great twist of fate and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out!

Great episode and I totally look forward to more! Thank you to the staff for subbing and posting! You guys are great!

how could arawn have killed arthurs father? i get that arawn was one of the spirits, thats obvious, but didnt he fight in the war with Pwyll? Meaning he abandoned the spirits and sided with humanity long ago
