   I say the first episode of this show but just couldn’t continue watching it. The fact that none of the girls put on pants really annoys me, not because it’s somewhat indecent(though I must admit that is a small factor), but because it just seems too impractical while fighting a war. I know it’s stupid, but it annoys me.

   OMFG there ARE clothes that covers the whole body. Its getting really interesting now. If the commander kills the girl she will be court marshalled. But its an anime so I dont know how they military law system works.

    I have agree with those who dislike the lack of pants in this anime. I’ve been watching this in spite of, not because of, the lack of pants. It just seems wrong with the characters shirt tails hanging out etc, that they are walking around unclothed from the waist down and have no problem with it. It’s gratuitous and unnecessary. The same effect could be achieved with short flappy skirts or with at least wearing more clothes prior to launching their strikers. They have nearly as much groinage, without constantly setting off the wrong-o-meter.

    Minna looks great in that dress, singing the “lille marlene”.

    The above notwithstanding I’m quite addicted to the cool parts of this anime. The Real Eric Hartmann won the Knights Cross (the german eqv. of the VC) so many times hitler had to coin a new version of the medal. The Real Chuck Yeager is more famous for breaking Mach one and being an Astronaut than for his war record. Two of the three wars Finland fought while the rest of us were embroiled in world war II were against Russian invasion, Yet the ‘Oruss’ and ‘Soumis’ girls are best of friends. Billy Bishop reputely returned to a quiet life in Canada. I’m curious to see how the girl’s destinies play out in comparison to their cognates.

    And the ending of this one was a definite cliff hanger. It’s not so much ‘wtf?’ … er.. what’s going on. It looks like we’re finally getting to some meaty bits in the story line.

    and it doesn’t hurt that some of the girls are hot from the waist up too. ;] — though only ‘Minna’ and a couple of others qualify as ‘hot’, since the rest look like children to me.
