   I think the lightning that Krona was shocked with removed his ability to instantly harden his blood. I was totally expecting him (her?) to use that blood needle technique on Madusa like he did on Maka in the first episodes. Just a guess… but we’ll know for sure when the subs come out =)

    People who continue to watch a series they don’t like and say it suck it sucks. WTF is that? Are you entertained or not? If so. SHUT UP. Lt people enjoy. Some of use prefer faster movement over static pages. Granted you’re not as bad as the “racers” and their silly Xth place post but still. We’re not going to go read the manga. It doesn’t match up entertaiment wise even if the story is a bit better.

    Anyway. I’m looking forwar to seeing Maka kick some butt and take a few hits on Stein. Also, I’m glad Crona is growing some backbone. BTW. Is it just me or do others forver forget Crona is a girl until they mntion it again. Straight up talks like a boy and acts like one. Well, here’s to some good episodes.

    And while you’re talking about manga, I have never really liked reading those comic books, they tend to be very frustrating to read and confusing at times. That’s why I prefer always the animated version of it. So what if it sucks compared to the manga version? Not all likes to read all those confusing pages of manga…

    While i agree with you krazuu that some will like anime or manga more then the other and manga isn’t for everyone. But confusing manga is not. The only differnce is that the FRAMES go from right to left. You still read the the actual text from left to right.

    Chrona’s gender confounds me as well. Initially the subs refer to it as ’she’ but later, when it joins shibusen, they start calling it ‘he’
    I think the subbers are as confused as we are…

    I’ll say he’s a boy because otherwise his interactions with maka get a bit weird…

    I just look at it like this; if the character ‘Haku’ in Naruto is supposed to be male, all the while, wearing a dress, having long hair, and even a woman’s voice, then it’s appropriate to assume that the same can go for Kurona. It certainly isn’t uncommon in anime for Male characters to appear female-although I have not the slightest clue as to why.

    And agbudar, when I write something, I’m open to the possibility that I may be wrong, naturally; and I certainly expect someone to correct me if I am; I appreciate the input of someone who is more knowledgeable than me on the topic. Having that said, starting a reply with, “No you idiot”, isn’t the best form of communicating one’s point.

    Actually, considering the direction the manga is taking (won’t spoil for those who haven’t read the newest chapter yet) I suspect they are both going towards the same plot destination.

    The anime just seems to be taking a more direct, concise and slightly alterred path to that end.

    so far its neither as it hasent been reveealed in the manga as crona always speaks with i, so thjsi been filler the anime just randomly picked one gender as it not been reveled in the manga lol maybe crona was made with majic and has no gender

    I think that Crona is a girl just because of the way that she looks and acts. Even if she does have a dick, I would still consider her a girl, just like how I feel about all transgenders.

    It’s hard to tell whether Crona is male or female because Japanese pronouns (he/she) don’t indicate gender. So the subbers and translators were really just guessing when they subbed and it keeps bouncing back and forth. However, I don’t know much about this “Daughter” thing they were talking about here. If it’s literal translation then, yeah, obvious answer. If the subbers are putting words in Medusa’s mouth, though…

    I’m looking forward to the anime’s good battles, but with less than ten episodes left I’m not sure how well the plot will be able to survive. Rushed endings always leave a bitter aftertaste.

    Anime broke off from the Manga at about Chapter 38 (just after Brew). Although it’s been a while, I’m pretty sure most of the stuff from 1-37 were accurate (I started getting noticeably confused at the anime’s Raws after Brew).

    i mean this story line isnt bad, but i dont understand why anime does this, they did this with Full Metal Alchemist and Vamire Knight and now soul eater…y dont they just follow the manga. well at least the story line is good in this one aswell…

    They can’t include all of the manga’s story because A) the manga are incomplete and B) the anime had a set number of episodes (unlike Bleach or Naruto).

    I believe that Crona is a girl, because Medusa refers to Crona as her daughter. In japanese, I think it is very easy to tell the difference between son(sochi, sai, segare, sotsu) and daughter(goreijou, otome, shoujo).. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this is right.

    Chrona’s a guy, if he/she was a girl then why in episode 7 he/she said “I Don’t Know How To Deal With a Girl.” and blushed??

    Chrona is a girl. In the manga (please don’t kill me) the first time Maka and Soul meet her, Ragnarok taunts her by pulling up her dress…and Soul gives it a thumbs up. So either Soul is gay (which would be a major plot twist and completely kill the (very tiny) bit of sexual tension between him and Maka) or Chrona is a girl. That’s my two cents anyway…
