I guess its time to change up the name, New challenger. Ippo is already champion and is no longer a new challenger.

I guess they know that the series is top-notch, might as well continue he anime. I wonder how many episodes there will be in the sequel? It would prolly be around 200 at least!

yeah i guess the japanese are the greatest and bestest people in the world, and the rest of the world are blood thirsty barbarian.
and japanese boxers are greatest and bestest in the world, oh where are the belts and medals?
oh i can understand why the japanese like this anime, the rest of the world, i dun know.

Japan got good boxers. If im not mistaking there is one boxer that knock out Johhny gonzales from mexico. He has a southpaw stance. But as of now, Phillipines got the best boxer in asia or I would say Asian boxer is the best in the world right now by the name of Manny pacquiao. Im asian, whatever the race is as long as it is asian im rooting for it.

Bunta said Im asian, whatever the race is as long as it is asian im rooting for it.

yeah in english there is a word for that, it is call racism.

  8. guy replied, Comment #124378

it’s more along the lines of nationalism, not racism.

Meh, I never thought the anime was much good, and it wasn’t
exactly a breath of fresh air.

It seems like the premise of every sport anime is “humble/shy underdog with natural talent who suddenly owns everyone”, and it’s gotten really old.

they better make one! ippo is one great anime

guy said: it’s more along the lines of nationalism, not racism.
The N on Nazi is national. Different word, same meaning.

  12. Zero replied, Comment #124480

Hm ma2ha3,It seems that u dont know what nationalism and racism is.Nationalism is cheering and believing in ur country, that doesnt mean u are racist,Im saying this cus I am also cheeering for my country, but that doesnt mean I hate other countries.
While racism is not about cheering or not,the most typical case of racism is this:U see 2 white man standing in a corner and they see a bypassing black man or asian 1 they just go there grab him and start beating him,After if the police caught em they are saying he has black color that is why we beaten him. That is racism

  13. raii replied, Comment #124495

Actually, he’s saying he supports Asians? “whatever the race is as long as it is asian im rooting for it”. That’s more like, Continentalism. Not sure if that’e even a word. Asian continent.

  14. Druaga replied, Comment #124534

I agree in the differences between nationalism and racism, and agree that Manny Pacquiao is a great boxer on the present days. However, to some degree, I think that Pacquiao is over-rated. Don´t get me wrong, the guy is a monster, but does not compare to legends like Rocky ‘Marciano’ for his perfect undefeated career of 49 fights, nor to Julio Cesar Chavez who holds the longest undefeated streak in boxing history, which is a 88 fight win streak until the draw with Whitaker happened. This is equivalent to a 13 year, 11 months and 24 days being undefeated, a final record of 107 fights wins from which 88 were owned by KO, 6 loses and 2 draws. ‘Marciano’ had a big KO percentage of his total matches, being from his 49 matches 43 owned by KO.

Nonetheless, Pacquiao’s sensation is giving a fresh air to the world of boxing and I hope he strives for higher goals that will lead him one more step closer to the biggest legends of the boxing history.

Aside of this facts, we all know Hajime no Ippo is a great show, and I’m not afraid to confim that is one of the best sports anime/manga ever because is more than well documented. You can get to know problems like weight management, get to know more of the types of boxing, just for mention some of the great details in this incredible title. Next season is more than wellcome.

By the way, is it just me, or the way that Brian Hawk looks and fights is like Jorge ‘El Maromero’ Paez, but crazier?

    AWESOME another sequel :D !
last episode (24) was also awesome as F*CK ^^
    erm,,, @ ma2ha3…
there’s nothing wrong with being nationalistic, the guy’s just proud to be an asian,
he never said that he was against all other non-asian boxers/people, he just said that as long as a boxer is asian he’ll root for ‘em, he didn’t say anything about hating other races,
    please.
study your homework before you write it down.
nazi as in nationalism, man you must be stupid, the NAZI’S were:
1, an aric race, blue eyes, blonde hair
    AN ASIAN IS NOT.
    2. the nazi’s had a HATE towards another race, the jewish.

so if you’re just looking for an arguement on the internet, please make sure its a good one, because yours kinda failed.

i would like to respond to mister ma2ha3 first of all, all the belts they are fighting for except for takumura are for the japanese champion belt get it, for people in the japanese area and the only person there who won a amateur boxing medal was vorg who is russian and in the real world currently there are 4 japanese boxing champions. 1 of which, hozumi hasegawa, has defended his title 8 times and his last 2 opponents he either knocked out or got a tko so up yours!!!!

hajime no ippo is definately is the one anime I am looking forward to. I believe they do a great job in how they give each of the characters a special move, and I always look forward to the next new one. Also they don’t have these crappy fillers inbetween every 5 episodes which is a huge plus
