Dragon and gol d roger are not related. Garp took ace in as his grandson as a favor for roger before he died. They have no blood relation only in name. Ace took his mother’s last name “portgas” instead of “gol” for roger’s name.

ok gol d roger is ace’s dad…when he was “done” i don’t remember what…sick, dieing, caught…anywho…since garp has been chasing roger so long they kinda had a relationship so roger asked garp to watch ace. Luffy dad is still dragon and dragon and roger has no relations…ace and luffy grew up together and made an oath of brotherhood…all white beard pirates call him father…but ace believes it.
So hope that clears all confusion…and yes its all in the mangas…and there is going to be a bit of episodes before they actually see ace and luffy together so hope you dont mind waiting!
