well for one thing that would screw with the plot, second of all they weren’t that strong even though they were shichibukai, haki apparently comes in different forms. its about time luffy brings out the gear second!!! when are they gonna realize who he is?

Haki is the only way to beat a logia user. Luffy can only use his haki in extreme emotional situations through bursts since he can’t control it yet. In the next episode Luffy only needs his gear second to beat them since luffy can move so fast their haki can’t catch up to luffy.
