    Actually, this is the second half of chapter 330 and a little over half of chapter 331, so its not really considered filler.

    this ep was actually better than the manga chapter. at least it had pace and good timing and didn’t show someone’s broody face for 15 minutes. This has been the best ep in awhile in Shippuuden. This was definately worth watching. The filler was meaningful instead of a bunch of bull.

Naruto has become such a boring series and it seem like we have to wait at least 5 episodes at a time before we see any real action. I fully agreed with you in the first place.     Wow, I was only half right. Last week I said we were going to have a broody Shikamaru for 15 minutes, but this ep pulled it off very artfully. It didn’t diminish his character at all, and actually strengthened it. They haven’t made a Shippuuden ep this good since the 10 vs 100 puppets ep. In fact, this is the only other ep where it was actually better than the manga chapter. The only sad thing is when good filler like this occurs, it’s automatically given bad association due to crappy previous filler. The timing, pacing and attention to detail was better than any of the sucky Naruto movies. Only one set of flashbacks, and they were dramatic, and SHORT. The studio has proven that they can indeed obtain Epic Win when they want to. Why can’t it be like this all the time?

    Oh yeah, I also want to say that the first 0:35 seconds was insanely wonderfully scary as hell unlike anything the show has ever done. It was unexpected, alarming, jarring and flabergasmic. It was as if it was Kurenai’s baby screaming from the womb holy crap yes.

    Before I note anything meaningful, I would just like to inform squish (about 6 posts up) that his spam was just as bad as all the other worthless comments here.

    For those who scream “filler” and complain, think of it this way, at least it adds to the story. Where as before Shippuuden, the majority of the fillers were pointless and had no value. They’re getting better!

    That aside, this was a very good episode. The beginning was astounding and set a good precedent for the rest of the episode. I figured that Team Ten would head out on their own. Shikamaru’s bound to have some amazing plan and I’m excited to see how it turns out.

     Stop crying about fillers. These aren’t fillers. It is very important for the story line. Asuma was an influence rich character in the episode and had a high role. Now he’s dead so it will change the storyline a bit. (correct me if I am wrong) This episode was very good in movement and timing. In many episodes you see one scene for 10 seconds without any movements. I hope they will do it in the next episodes too.
