Pff good episode but way to much time is wasted to shots where nothing happens and you only see the situation from above, or the side. En way to much talking. But ok it’s quite important that shikamarus’ analysizes give imput to the fight.
Asuma was an important character so let HIM die gives a big twist to the storyline I think. He had an relationship with Kurenai, helped Naruto with his wind training, leaded his own team.. etc etc etc. There will be a new jounin to lead the team of shikamaru, Ino and Chouji. (that’s what I think)
To darkslayer: to let the people wait what will happen, they “force” the naruto watchers to watch the new episode too. By constantly have an open end, people get curious and HAVE TO watch the next to. Easy technic.

this is probably one of the best episodes i’ve watched thus far. shikamaru has always been my fave character and seeing him struggle and in such exasperation to protect his friends is heart-wrenching. this situation will definitely scar him for the rest of his life. the entire “you are the best strategist” thing has placed him on a very unfortunate pedestal- ultimately leaving him to blame himself for the entire outcome of this fight.

The Episode from way back when Naruto fought Sasuke on that river or lake or w/e was the best ever. It had the same amount of emotion but a lot more action.

Shikamaru should have ordered one of the chunin to mutilate the other akatski’s body when his head is already decapitated, instead of being phased out and do nothing. Ending song is great for the episode though.
