This isn’t a continuation….it looks like they’re filling in some gaps left by the original series as fanservice. This anime had one of the worst endings I’d ever seen. The Earth was taken over, the android maid was absorbed back into the super consciousness she came from, the boy grew up alone miserable and filled with hate, and they end it with a cryptic line while he’s dying. “I’ll leave him with a nostalgic memory” meaning the robot maid he spoke with as he was dying was just an illusion.
