Inuyasha’s Final Chapters Get TV Anime Green-Lit

This year’s 34th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce next Wednesday that an Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen (Inuyasha Final Chapter) television adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s manga has been green-lit. The anime will broadcast on Japan’s YTV this fall and cover the story in volumes 36 to 56 of the manga — the final 21 compiled book volumes. The original staff and cast will reunite for the new anime adaptation.
Shonen Sunday had promised earlier this month that it will be including a special news announcement about Inuyasha in issue #34. Takahashi had ended the Inuyasha manga in the same magazine last June. She has been serializing a new manga called RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) in the magazine as well as on TheRumicWorld.com website for North America readers since April 22. Viz Media has been releasing the Inuyasha manga in North America, and it has also released the original 2000-2004 television anime adaptation.

lol! I havn’t read the manga at all. The ending of the anime sucked ass, i can’t put it any more bluntly than that. It really did, and made me want to stab my eyes out that i even liked the series. I adored Inuyasha from the beginning because the story was unique and i thought it was cute. As it progressed it just became repetitive over and over with the same basic plot line just dragged out. Hopefully, something miraculous will happen. Since Sesshomaru is awesome as hell i will pay respects to him and continue watching the series.
It’s not easy to make me happy and it’s really hard to make me upset. So hopefully i won’t get upset as i did with the original ‘cut-off’ or ‘ending’ of the series.
Hopefully they’ll not even think of adding filler.

filler would really suck but there is really no reason to delay the story cause the manga ended last year.

Uncreative use of fascinating mythology, static characters and relationships, repetitive story arcs, lack of decent fight scenes, completely predictable, and cliche romantic comedy humor. As a shonen series, the fights were uncreative and lacked any technique or strategy. As a shoujo series, the relationships go through all kinds of twists and turns, but the character interactions never change at all. Broad audience, fails to hit any targets well. Might work if the best of each arc was abridged into simple 3 part story each with distinct character relationships, circumstances, and setting.
Summary, Inuyasha had everything for a great story that would appeal to everyone, but it dragged on to long without any progression and becomes formulaic. Inuyasha fights and loses, he gains power-up, he uses it to almost win, Inuyasha goes through some character development, Kagome monologues and drifts away from Inuyasha, they both reconcile yet only return to the statis quo. This applies to the other relationships as well. I would compare Inuyasha to a series that pulls this off well like Tenchi Muyo! which has an equally intricate setting. Even though the series was so short, you can see the character interactions evolve and change from episode to episode, not to mention the humor is better.

I think inuyasha is a sucky ass show and shouldnt be called an anime.

i also hope there won’t be any fillers, the way they ended the anime back in ’04 was freakin STUPID how do you end the series with the antagonist still not beaten even after the continuous and repetitive battles with naraku all ending the same, if they put fillers it will just kill any hope for the show of even being a success anymore, i doubt there will be hope(crosses fingers) as the manga has already finished and fillers are usually a way to delay time for the author to write more chapters in the manga

Just an after thought: Rumiko Takahashi should stick to comedy like Ranma 1/2, she’s terrible at plot progression and just tries to milk an idea for as long as she can. The reason Ranma 1/2 didn’t get boring was because the episodes were self contained, and you didn’t have to watch the entire last season to have a clue of what’s happening. At the same time watching continuously, you could appreciate little things like what’s going to happen when Ranma gets a cat stuck on his head.
I can’t wait to see my favorite sesshoumaru line animated. “If you are the king of hell, then I am the lord of hell.”

You guys are idiots the anime never ended, they just stop producing eps. The anime had always followed to manga, they’re just going to pick up from where they left off at ep 166. This ep was not the last eps,its just where it cuts off. I’ve read the manga the fillers in the anime are actually in the manga as well, anime is no different from the manga and will continue following Rumiko manga.
Btw the rest of the series was really epic, i didnt liked the manga ending that much though, but it was still cool how the story ended, you guys will like it.
AND FOR THE LAST TIME, THAT WASN’T THE REAL ENDING TO THE ANIME, THEY JUST STOP MAKING EPS IDIOTS.

basically inuyasha and kagome live in the past happily ever after…..
but if you think about it for 2 seconds, wouldnt kagome die in like 50-70 years (if shes lucky) and Inyasha lives like….i dont know maybe 300+ years :S (half demon?)

I think the cutt of for the anime was a terribad idea but if they bring it back i will watch it solely cause Sesshomaru is my favorite anime character of all time, he’s awsome and there should be more of him in the episodes….
If everyone recalls the boost in Animated production Bleach got at the start of the Heco Mundo saga. Using the same tech I think we could have something to look forward too with new eppys of this series. Would I rather they just come up with a fresh Idea. Absolutely positively. I would rather see a Series based on Sesshomaru even if it where only 12 episodes (without filler)it would still be better than the 166 episodes of Inuyasha.

I Read the manga and I think the ending was really stupid but I realy like the rest of the chapters and I can’t wait to see them animated.

Seeing as Dragonball z got a remake, FMA got a tweeking to get it on to manga plot and now inuyasha gets restarted. Hopefully this means that some more of the truely excellent (and not just popular) animes can get a new TV showing. Hopefully Berserk is one of them and thats pretty damn popular anyway, so they can easily make some money from it. I bet most people have a filler ending somewhere out there they hate and want changed.

The only downside to this is after watching it i’ll have to re watch it in English about a year later ^_^ back when it first came out i was too young to grasp the concept of reading the subs and watching at the same time so i’ll still have the English voices echoing in my head XD

Apparently, the anime – Inuyasha: The Final Act – will cover the final 20 volumes (Vol.37 to 56) of the manga. It will premiere between October and December.
