That one writer behind manga version of Guin Saga, Kaoru Kurimoto, passed away on 26th may 2009. That’s four days ago from when I’m writing this.

He wrote it since 1979, and it reached 126 volumes. Twenty eight million copies sold worldwide so far.

You did one hell of a job, Kaoru. May your story live for decades to come. Respect.

Ah, major mistakes there(stupid beer, don’t drink kids) she didn’t do Guin manga but novels. So 126 books in the series all written by her. English editions have drawn praise compared to Lord of the Rings and Conan the Barbarian novels.

So far, just five first books have been translated into english, that basically meaning that her works will continue to be translated for.. uhm for a LOT of years to come.

Kurimoto’s life work thus creating possibilities for other people to have a life long career also with her magnificient saga.

Thank you for touching so many lives with yours, Kaoru.

(btw: she wrote nearly 400 books during her life)

And, I think, feel that the ending song is meant for her.
