Wow. That’s actually a really saddening OVA. Even the song at the end sent a chill down my spine. It just goes to show that there is no way to possibly resurrect the dead. But as Ed discovers in FMA Brotherhood; you, by all means, can transmute those already living. [When Ed, Ling, and Envy are in Gluttony's stomach.] Its a shame, if they’d done the transmutation when Rosalie was alive [that is, if she was dieing from illness or injury], she’d still be living. Though that kind of alchemy is not entirely understood by Amestris, as it is called Rentanjutsu [from Xing and I apologize if its misspelled] in the manga and is the foundation of Scar’s older brother’s research.
Why am I babbling on? o.o Oh yeah…this was a depressing OVA, but at least the manga gives up hope for Ed and Alphonse, even if its absolute that human transmutation doesn’t work.
Fuck that I could make human transmutation work just look at my name.

Wonder why the Rosalie-mummy couldn’t move, is it too fragile? Maybe without seeing “the truth”, Judeau was only able to weakly attach a soul to a physical medium, so its movements aren’t very good.

Her soul is probably attached to her corpse, and it’s to decayed for her to talk or move or anything. She was revived, but back into her already decaying body. That’s what I think anyways.

Not convinced. Because everyone who tried to transmutate got something that wasn’t what they wanted. It might be a monster in there idk. It depends if they used her original body or something. Not that it matters really, but if u think about it, it would probably be better if the girl was dead then stuck in that corpse!
I wonder if they’re going to animate the other gaiden now. That would be good.

The way I look at it is, you can bring a soul back through the gate, but bringing the body and the mind back through is where they all fail. Because even if you do what Ed did and pull the soul back through the body and mind and still lost, see the Mind is what connects the Body and Soul. So the way I’m looking at it is that when Ed brought Al back through the gate and put him in the Armour he is actually using his mind as a medium to host Al’s soul, make sense? So if someone is Dead their soul has already left, which means it didn’t go into the gate and can’t be brought back. But in Al’s case his body is still intact on the other side of the gate so he should be able to be brought back….Wow that was Ramblelious.

The story of FMA is almost different from the manga, unlike brotherhood.
Transmuted humans doesn’t change in to homunculli (At least not in the manga.
Its a shame that the old FMA anime series shows that the dead can be resurrected as homunculus where as this OVA and Brotherhood series completely points out “The dead cannot be revived”. Both the old FMA and new FMA conflicts with each other. Thats not to say Brotherhood is tons better than the old FMA either, or vice-versa. Its a bit of both. Old FMA had much better pacing with characters and character development, where as the new FMA has a better story, following the manga completely instead of making up random crap like in the old one. The guys behind FMA really should have been more organized with this stuff, despite FMA being a fantastic show, both old and new.

Well brotherhood had to rush the begginning of the story because everyone already knew it all already from the first FMA (which caused the lack of character development and pacing). Well personally though, I like the first FMA’s storyline better lol. I don’t know why… the manga storyline seems to move more towards one of those all action type of stories without any real content or plot. Like they just made some super badass villain and then you have the hard working prodigy and they battle it out and of course good wins (well probably will). Idk it just comes across as that to me even though I know its not completely like that. Might be that it lost a bit of its originality now that I saw the first season.
This show is FUCKED up as usaul. SICK ASS BULLSHIT. ONLY GOD CAN BRING A HUMAN INTO THE WORLD. SOMEONE GET RID OF THIS SHIT PLEASE.
