Oh, how I love FMA. The manga’s awesome, the old anime sucked. Also the series is getting to the point where the manga branched off from the old anime. I can’t wait to see Ling,Ran Fan, old man Fu Mei-chan and her panda.(And if you never read the manga, you’ll have no clue who I’m talking about.) I also can’t wait to see the animated version of Envy’s (REALLY awesome but kinda creepy)real form!I also can’t wait to see Hohenheim’s (or Hoho-papa, as some people call ‘im) past in the anime.
And, and NO MASON!!! I kinda liked him.

…if Mason was in the manga and the whole point of this remake is to follow the manga, then why did they cut him out?

Well I have no clue who is Mason as I started watch fullmetal with this series. So far its pretty good I must say. Probably don’t need him to keep on going so who care

I saw that too. Now that it’s starting to be different from the original I’m liking it less. I know its kind of just a preference thing but I wish this was more in depth. Mason was important I think. But the good news is he was in the preview for the next episode.
Lastly and possibly most importantly, what about Wrath??? This episode is where he came in last time and it didn’t look like he will come in the next episode.
SPOILERS;
Wrath. In the original doesn’t exist in the manga. Pride(King bradley) is Wrath. The Fuhers son is Pride. So king bradley is Wrath.

Mason is this big forest guy who lived on the forest while the boys were having their trial. He would constantly beat them up. Instead of the turning point being when Ed ate the ants, the turning point in the old series was when Ed confronted Mason with the knife. Mason was really the husband.

so far ive liked the first series much better
… ending the series thou in 13 eps is going to suck… not sure how there going to do it but so far every ep feels rushed maybe i’m just used to the first series i don’t know… i like some of the more chibi ish sceens in this series but the overall story just seems neglected compared to the previous and the manga even.
I didn’t remember mason anyway, so I didn’t care.
I don’t feel like it’s being neglected. (People need to stop comparing anime to manga) I’m liking this one better, it’s getting close to where I stopped watching it in the first.
Also next ep. is suppose to be the last one. So I’m wondering when the next season will start…..
They cut out lot but it only 14 episodes. They cut out filler part of the manga when Master took Ed and Al on the train. It also removed the part when ED and Al meet Masion on the way to Master house. They might show this next episode when they talk about there mom with teach.
Interesting…they cut off mason, don’t know what the point of that was, mason wasn’t really a big character, so theres no reason to cut him or keep him, i guess he was expendable. Is this anime only 13 or 14 episodes, it does’nt make sense ?

These first episodes a like this gian review so far. We hacn’t seen anything that wasn’t mentioned in the first (exept for the fact Izumi was left on Mt. Briggs). I’m waiting until (hopefully) they kill off the origional Greed. (Spioler)

I love FMA i think the new anime is better the original branched itself into a different world so what if Mason gone the rest will be closer to the manga
the origional anime was alot more in-depth, really put some feeling and background into the character that u just dont get with these new eps. i mean who cares if al or ed died now? if it was in the origional this would be like ep 30ish, and would shake the foundations of the anime, atm its like meh. and i miss mason and his child abusive ways lol
this anime version of fma is definitely lighter and with more humor in my opnion. LOL at the random guy 131142 pointed out above the comment was hilarious. although im preferring the older version till now i will definitely make it a point to finish this new version of the series :’) im looking forward to conforonation between Scar and Winry which i think happens later in the manga. anyway thanks for subbing again!!
This new series is following the manga, but if you do read the manga you’d already know that they cut off a few minor characters. And that’s what Mason is, hes a minor character, not an important character by any means. If you watched the episode you’ll notice that they cut the ’30 day training’ really short to get to the major point quickly and efficiently. The only thing Mason does is intimidate them in the island, which does bring a bit more suspense to the event, but that really has nothing to do with the ‘food cycle’ and the ‘All is one/One is all’ theory that the Elric brothers learned, not to mention that if they did put Mason in there, the island scenes would be more longer, and they probably wouldn’t be able to put everything in one episode smoothly like they did with this one. Overall I think removing Mason is more ‘fitting’ because Mason does not make any important re-appearances after this event.
Mason brings NOTHING to the plot, so the plot will continue to follow the manga, it is NOT going to be like the first FMA anime series.

They are only remaking this anime like with Dragon Ball Kai. They are taking any and all things that may be consider fillers or that have little point to the main story. What in some way it’s ok since it’s strait in the plot.
