Fullmetal Alchemist Preview

The 3rd commercial for the new Fullmetal Alchemist series released with today’s episode of Gundam 00, Fullmetal Alchemist is slated to replace Gundam 00 starting April 5th, 2009.
It will be a remake of old series, not a sequel. In a sense its a restart with the storyline being actually faithful to manga this time.

    AHAHAHA! I find this absolutely hilarious. The original series was pretty good until the end, but now EVERYONE is a winner! The manga just seems a bit more intense than the anime was.

    There wouldn’t be anything to continue off the movie, retards. Almost all the skilled alchemists are dead, in another world, or just doing nothing.
    Its a remake, and the manga is so much better then the anime.

    @Jakalope; I believe so. I think halfway through they screwed up, and I think the manga is still going on with a plot.

    The first anime is good but the story from the manga is much deeper and in my opinion better and i loved the anime version its win win

    honostly i hated alot of ideas inside the original anime. Such as homunculi being born from human transmutation and being completely immortal was kinda ridiculous at least in the manga they can die after umpteen million deaths. On top of that theres not a ridiculous bad guy who does crap and gets eaten by gluttony (lol bad) but instead a neat bad guy who ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING

    I agree that the series was great in and of it’s own rights. So I figured I’d read the manga to see why they need to do a remake and after catching up on it…I think a remake was a great idea. It has a thicker, less depressing plot. And there are a lot of cool characters that the first series didn’t have. Such as Armstrong’s Sister. ^_^

    Armstrongs Sister was in 1 episode, not sure which one tho.
    Anyway the manga is good, but i actually prefer the anime.
    However i personally think that a remake isnt what the series needs.
    If a Second Series WERE to appear then there would actually be room for anime only characters just as the manga has manga only characters.
    I do admit that the anime has a more depressing theme than the manga, but dont forget people, the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist WANTED the anime to have a different ending than the manga, even though the manga hasnt finished yet.

    I belive that there shuld be a second series, but hey, its only one guy’s opinion and in todays world, one guys opinion aint woth jack.

    Oh - this clears up my confusion. I’m living in Japan right now and I saw an episode of FMA that looked (just barely) different from the one I’d seen before - and i didn’t remember the plot being exactly like that… I totally hadn’t heard of this but the idea of 2 versions crossed my mind. So it seems like the animation is a bit different too, like Scar looks a little different. Dunno about the voices cause these were in Japanese.
