The creator of fairy tail, Mashima Hiro, used to work with Eiichiro Oda the creator of One Piece as an artist. Thats why some of the characters look like those from One Piece.

damn can’t you people just quit whining and saying fairy tail is a rave master ripoff, cuz you guys obviusly don’t that Hiro Mashima MADE both fairy tail and rave master.
that’s why plue is in fairy tail and that’s why for an example lucy and Elie resembles each others and it’s the same with Gray and Musica even their power are similar.
personally i think both mangas are great and the fairy tail anime is OK so far.

tho i have to admit that i like One Piece better so far, but still if you guys have to compare them just remeber that one piece has +400 episodes and Fairy Tail have just 3.
and it’s not a one piece look alike at a first glance they look very similar but if you compare and read a little more you can clearly see that they both have their distinct styles.

and you know the rave master anime wasn’t even finished properly thay just made a hasty ending while the manga kept going plus the manga is great it’s a must read ^^

Yeah… the guy who created Fairy Tail also created Rave Master. He also used to work on One Piece so you’ll see resemblances from both shows.

Personally I think that I’m rather disappointed that they went for a younger target audience (or specialized). Fairy Tail is more cutesy and comedic than serious. So far, from what I’ve seen, it’s still rather “friendly” as opposed to other animes (we’ll use One Piece in this example since it is referred to often) where there is potentially more serious issues at hand.

But then it’s still the first 3 episodes after all. I just feel that the manga really had a more serious feel to it up to the same point.
