Man, just as bad as the other stuff. The legacy of Evangelion is that it scared the industry and a lot of other writers and directors so that they began to put out better stuff and act more transparent in their business practices. It also kind of killed this art style, which I don’t miss.
This is Death and Rebirth, a compilation movie of the original series, released in 1997. Why is it titled and listed under Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0? That movie is still in theaters in Japan, and not released anywhere else, besides cam versions. Please change.
You made me get excited for nothing. I thought finally a decent cam version of Rebuild 2.0 has been released, when this is just the old Death & Rebirth 1997 movie….

The Rebuild 2.0 is currently in Japan, it’s not out in english yet. So if you want to buy it I suggest you go to Japan. Lol

It is still being aired in Japan, I wonder if anyone noticed about the black semi-circles at the bottom of the screen, and the total black sometimes brown left side of the screen… THIS IS OBVIOUSLY SOME DUDE FILMING THIS IN THE THEATER WITH A VIDEO CAMERA!!
any of yall who said this is Death and Rebirth are stupid you have got to be kidding me. Please tell me where they actually showed any of those angels in Death and Rebirth. Yes, I know they are just redesigned angels, but still this is not Death and Rebirth. This is Evangelion 2.0, besides look at the end of the movie if im correct it says 3.0: Quickening.
fucking amazing movie
I saw this earlier in the week, but yeah from what i gather it was death and rebirth until they fixed it, anyways it was an awesome film, ok alittle rushed in some areas but its a film trying to compress alot of plot and fighting, but yeah good film and I almost want to say i like it better then the series, but thats only because its not as depressing lol
I started watching this then I culdnt stop laughing about how the guy tried to tape this so valiantly lol…

wow, i mean just wow! this is fucking fantastic!! i love how they change things so its not just a repeat of the series (which is my favorite anime series ever). my god i’m speechless at the ending, just speechless.

This is not Evangelion: Death & Rebirth
From what I remember, Death & Rebirth contains scenes that are from the Evangelion (TV) and the first part of End of Evangelion.
This is also not The End of Evangelion.
Personally, I would say End of Evangelion (EoE) is the true ending for Evangelion that should have been shown by the TV series (replacing Episodes 25 and 26 of TV version).
Episode 25: Air (of EOE) begins by showing with Shinji in the aftermath of Episode 24 (TV version) followed by a scene with Shinji & Asuka. It will then show scenes that are similar to that in Liliputian Hitcher (Episode 13 of TV version). Don’t want to spoil it but that’s what it starts with…
Episode 26: まごころを、君に (EoE) begins with scenes showing Rei & Commander Ikari. This is soon followed by scenes showing what happens to Unit 02 after it failed to terminate the 9 EVA Series Units (Unit 05-13) and how Unit 01 becomes part of the initiation of the Third Impact.
This animation is definitely Evangelion: 2.0 You can [Not] Advance. Scenes of Sahaquiel (10th Angel: 空の天使) are absolutely different from that in the TV version.
