First of all, master Roshi was old when Goku met him. Second of all, the “origional” piccolo was way before goku’s time. The time Goku fought him, he was a little kid…it may have been at the last tournament, and then he was a young young adult so I take back the age thing but still. And whats with the messed up hair styles for goku? Where is Krillen? Why does Bulma not have blue hair?

Awesomeness, DragonBall is nothing like the trailor. LIke I said, MASTER ROSHI WAS OLD when he met Goku. Bulma had BLUE hair and met Goku first. He threw a tree log or a giant fish at her car, she didnt have a bike. Pretty sure it was a fish cause he went lookin for food. He had the 4 star ball with him all along too. I agree, this wannabe Dragonball just sucks balls and the directing crew needs to go and watch the series and read the manga.

Roshi was old and Goku was a kid, thats the two MAIN parts that they screwed up in this movie and I probably WON’T see it because of how the trailor looks. I didn’t watch enough Transformers to judge the movie until I watched it. But I did watch allllllll of the american DB shows.

Modernizing DBZ is comparable to god making sex painful and pleasureless. Once it happens, everyone may as well die. It would have been cool if they had the actors lip-sync and let the voice actors for the show voice them. THAT would have been unfuckingbelievably incredible. Also they could have slapped a higher budget on it seeing as if the movie were done correctly it would make more money than anything ever. Regardless of who you are, you most likely have heard about dbz and most likely have at least one friend who would drag you to it. However, I’m still going to see it for the lolz.

I dont know what to say. I think Dragonball evolution embodies everything thats wrong with film. This is a modern era where old cartoons can be depicted accurately in film, yet these filmmakers have chosen not to. The entire Dragon ball saga is too epic and too perfect to be changed. But even from the first few seconds of the trailer WE ALL KNOW IT WILL BE SHIT! Why does goku look like the lead singer from greenday?
Honestly, If they couldve tried to accurately portray dragon ball on film, they would have so much revenue opportunity, and so many chances for sequels THAT people would enjoy watching. but they had to use their “creative license” and fuck shit up

The trailer sure does leave a bad taste. It is sad to see the directors/studio didn’t take the opportunity to have Japanese or Japanese-American (European/Brazilian..etc) actors to play the roles. Another great cross-over actor opportunity missed. I was even willing to stretch my imagination to alot a ‘counter’ or parallel story line with the Dragonball theme.. but this is soo disappointing. I’m just …hurt. Maybe we can hope for a re-make that’s animated headed by another director (like the Hulk (kinda), and even Batman had made comebacks..). It’s been sad to see what film makers have been doing to classic American Iconic comics (like the last Superman)..now they seem to be starting to shred Japanese Manga as well (didn’t they learn after Speed Racer?) Well, I’m old enough to state that if anything this Anime Themed Razzi Award winning movie…. along with ‘Racer’. Will make great party games entertainment….by the way anyone know if there is a cite or location that ‘rates’ badly done live action of anime/comics… just curious…

For me it just a remake of the anime (or so someone posted parallel to the anime) but never mind Ill just tell myself that the movie didn’t happen. I like the fact they tried to make a live action to it. Oh in final fantasy spirits within was different from this and only doctor cid was there so much like in the ff serie.

First of all I’d like to say to all you wannabe dragonball Z fans who think this is shit because of what the anime is, what you know is bullshit.
This story is actually from way before the anime was ever made, they just derived it partly from both the legend(shitty movie about a boy with a tail) and the anime itself. Now im going to clear some things up and before i do, this is a TRAILER, it aint gonna show everything you wanna see, just the main characters.
The characters actually do fit their parts, dragonball was a kiddie cartoon, no shit its gonna look more hardcore than that. This is fit around the time where in the DB series where king piccolo tries to take over the world and destroy everything in his path, at this point he is older because he hasnt gotten his youth back. Goku IS the right age because he was a teenager, and i can tell you a little fuckin kid aint gonna look like a teenager, like i said, DB was a cartoon, you can do what you want in a cartoon, this is real life! not even special and visual effects can do some things.
Gohan is his grandpa even if it is self proclaimed by himself or goku, for the idiot who said it is his son and not his grandpa, stfu you fuckin moron he named his son Gohan after his grandpa who dies, who is also named gohan.
Bulma is probably just fine, they arent gonna give her fuckin teal hair, that would look ridiculus and you would say this movie is even more stupid, so they modernized which i say is better than doing it any other way, secondly her having guns and a high tech bike seems good for this movie considering the fact that it aint a kiddie cartoon with morons running around the screen, just kinda like the transformers cartoon, they arent gonna make it like a little kiddie fest of color blobs.
As for some of you who criticize roshi, he doesnt need to look like an effin grandpa considering he drank from the fountain of youth, thats just how they played his character, how are they gonna find a buffer, faster moving 75 year old martial artist to play him? he drank from the fountain, therefore id say he can look young.

Last but not least, the dragonballs were put on the planet for a reason and were created long ago YES by a namekian, and if u look closer, a NAMEKIAM is in the fuckin part where they show that if you look closely, and yes they do look like fuckin vampires, dont you remember what piccolo’s teeth looked like and how angry he was. They sure as hell arent gonna make him greener than the hulk, and if i remember the older version of piccolo is a darker more faded color, before he obtains youth. As far as im concerned they didnt do really anything i would consider far from the plot of dragonball, and they sure as hell arent gonna explain it for 30minutes in a trailer. If you wanna know more about whats in it, go see it, so fuck all you who say this is a “FAIL”. i hate commenting but for the sake of my comment being heard im just gonna say…poor choice of gokus live action character and the rest of the cast. they could have made the special effects a little better similar to spider man, incredible hulk and lord of the rings special effects. Goku should be portrayed as masculine, a bit tall, and kind hearted looikng kind of guy. None of that resembles the white dude playing gokus character..no offense to him. I think we have the right technology and capability to produce at least a half decent live action character of goku even if its just to produce the heavy muscled body of goku since the goofy hair and manga face is a bit difficult to project in live action.

ALRIGHT. PEOPLE STFU. Who cares if it’s good, the point of the story is that they are completly off course with the background. I watch “To Kill A Mockingbird” It was sketchy by skipping a few scenes and what not, but the words were all the same, at certain points. Still it related to the book, this isn’t. And before you compare this crap to TRANSFORMERS STFU, don’t drag them in. Truth is, most of you probably never saw the first episode, AND I mean the real shit, not this crap they have out now. There has been a new story but characters mostly remained the same with each retelling. Hell they even had something a saga a few years back, though the story-telling was sloppy. Fact is, Transformer’s and its movie is like Play-doh, Dragonball is not. You can jump around with scenes so a movie can play out, but stop fucking with our god damn beloved background, and honestly fix the characters. I will say this, The Transformer Movie, stayed close to it’s Namesake, and the reason alterations are made is to fit our day and age.

Yeah it’s easy to do something like spiderman or batman, they are wearing masks, but goku is a like superman, you can special effect that, movement yes, appearance no, but its not like hes gonna go super saiyan or anything, this is before any of that crazy DBZ fighting and aliens menaces from throughout the galaxy and between dimensions.
I give the director props for trying to entertain an audience with a $100 million dollar budget, just to please those fans out there who love anime, and sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a real dragonball movie with real people and what it would look like with todays technology, and you all act like its costing you part of your life, it cost them a ton of money to make this. Anyone who comments to say this movie is shit, should really rethink what they said, considering you summarized an entire movie performance through a short trailer in about 10 words or less, oh im sorry maybe 11 words depending on how big your brain is

^^^ I thought Transformers was a huge failure except for the fighting scenes. Considering Dragonball fighting is on a another level just by the trailer i can tell its weak. look I’ve been a DBZ fan for a long time I know how all of u fill about this move. Yah they got the story wrong the dragon balls were created by kami. Master roshie was an old man and goku meet him after bullma but that doesn’t mean the movie won’t be good. yes it’s not what we as DBZ fan wanted in the first DBZ movie but when the people in Hollywood make are favorite anime’s or books or even TV series into movies they usually mess up the story line fairly badly butt that just means they didn’t do all the research that they should have so instead of complaining we all should write to them and tell them that they should do more research by watching the anime series and reading the manga before they make another live action DBZ movie. That’s what I will do. I also plane to sit through and watch the movie too otherwise they may think the series isn’t worth making and that would be a true insult to us the fans as well as the DBZ series.
