The general was not weak it was road’s powers of the mind that got him ( if you paid attention) you would have noticed he was fight 2 noah’s and the earl himself maybe for some hours too. The got into his mind then when his defence was down they killed him.

general Cross does not die. He is seen badly wounded but by the time help arrives he has disappeared but he leaves his mask and his caliber revolver behind which implies that he is still alive
