where is yin?
1st
What’s up with the recent surge of trannies in animes, I guess the Japanese think it’s funny but pretty disgusting IMO, not to mention they’re all portrayed with blatant stereotypes. That shop owner’s nasty.
what happened to the doll girl? I think she died in first season.
If you guys have been watching the episodes carefully, yin apparently disappeared sometime after the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2. You have to realize that there is time gap of 2 years in between the series. A lot of stuff happened…I’m sure they’ll reveal it soon enough.
Can’t wait for subs, thanks for posting.
@Obsi
Lumping all Japanese as tranny lovers just because a few anime shows have transgenders in them is the very definition of stereotype bubba. When did anime become the defacto source for Japanese culture?
A few seconds of research shows which countries you should consider, ‘disgusting’

Japan, which boast on the the highest online densities on the planet doesn’t even make the top 10. If your getting strange feelings from watching cross dressing men, well, who’s problem is that really?
Haven’t watch season 1. Y has hei got long hair!
lol I like the look on Suou’s face when she starts losing while sparring. It’s one of those “why do I put up with this” sort of looks.
Although I can’t say for sure, it looks like she might actually be a contractor, unlike Hei who was managed to skip out on the remuneration.
@Nooby: Season 1 is actually on this site if you want to watch it. However, it doesn’t cover why Hei has long hair. Probably so that he can just cut it himself and not have to worry about maintenance. He appears a lot more bum-like now.
compared to the first season, it’s pretty lame so far =/
Well basicly Hei became an alcoholic, alocholics usually dont care about their looks so that might explain the hair and the looking a bum part i wonder how he got like that though.
I don’t think it’s lame. The action is better than before. If you’re thinking it’s lame because Hei is no longer the same mysterious guy, you have to realize it’s a realistic portrayal. Him being a bum now shows how much hardship he’s been through since betraying the Syndicate.
hei will change over time, i just hope yin isnt dead
Well i thought it got kind of better when suou became a contractor. Now it’s somewhat darker.
Lol Kirihara saving her virginity for Hei. Hope they hook up when Hei gets his head straight and get that over with.
what is it with allways naked screen when the weapon come out.. thats way to wrong with a 12-14 year old girl <.<
Is no one else in the least bothered that Hei keeps hitting Suou?
Come on… she is just a child (contractor at that.. but still), curse you new-drunken-Hei!
Sry for dbl post but here is a link to what happend after the anime end. it not complette yet but it follow the end of the anime. http://www.onemanga.com/Darker_Than_Black_-_Shikkoku_no_Hana/
lols wot? This is way better than season 1 and more fun.
Hei now has two choices, emerge stronger than he was before or die in pool of self pity; hardship is the path of a true hero.
lol Eteran I am totally with you, hei is a totally dick now man I hate how he is treating her I mean loads of shits happened to her in like a span of couple weeks that would fuck someone up.
People rattling on about Yin, we have no idea what happened to her all we know she disappeared in some battle and hei wants to kill her.
But wish the bleakness wouldnt focus so much on suou poor girl
Hei was never like a real hero in the first season but he is totally dick now all in self pitting and shit, which is a great little change when u see how focused he is and seeing him totally unfocus not carrying for himself and boozing all the time is interesting its just depends if we see him emerge from the self loathing pitty or if it just gonna be that.
*carrying= not caring for himself
So, I’ve got two predictions after watching the subbed version.
1) Norio is going to die, probably trying to save Suou.
2) Hei went through this same sort of thing. He began with no emotion, but they began to creep back out because he wasn’t originally a contractor. I believe that Suou’s power is like what Hei’s was since it seems it is reliant off of that amulet (probably the meteor fragment) and she claims to hate Hei. Norio might very well snap her out of it.
Hei’s freakin hard core now. He doesn’t let Suou get away with anything.
1) trannies are disgusting
2) the japanese acutally DO think trannies are quite funny,
this is coming from someone who is LIVING in TOKYO (me) and has asked this question before…so yes if some dipshit wants to ask me if im a pr0 on japanese culture,
HELl FKIN YES IDIOT!
Like one of the posters mentioned before, if you want more answers of why Hei is the way he is then read Darker Than Black - Shikkoku no Hana. It will soon answer everything that is missing up to the season 2.
my,my Hei is really merciful now ^^
I find it hilarious that some idiots here don’t realize Hei has lost his sisters powers for good. Did you imbeciles not see “his” star fall? that was an indication of the contractors death, in this case being the remnants of Hei’s sister who gave him her powers in the first place.
ie: season 2 is WAY more exciting than season one was after four episodes, and the storytelling has improved three fold. Hei fans need to stop whining like little bitches just because hes not in the limelight with his shock therapy anymore.
How has he lost his power? O.o I’m pretty sure he used it.
And i guess he’s being cold-hearted towards her because it’s not exactly an easy life for contractors, little girl or not, her enemies are going to very nice if they try kill her are they? Being nice to her won’t help her right now.
he lost his powers when her necklace took them or something… at least that’s what i got from it.
i hope he gets them back…
@ Stunned & Shocked.
I agree with you that the whining is a bit annoying. I mean, come on, he WAS the “Black Reaper” long before he was a Contractor Human hybrid. I think he’ll be included in plenty of action, with or without his powers. But, I don’t believe they are gon permenantly. What I saw, his star litterally disappeared, or maybe dimmed? But, I didn’t see it literally fall. So, I don’t think they’re gome for good. Can’t wait to see how this story unfolds.
Actually Bk-201 star did not fall, it just disappeared so there is a chance it might reappear.
who ever is complaining about hei hitting her…what are you smoking? he should kill her ass, she should be dead. she shouldn’t be the main character in the show. shes 12 years old she can’t fight and i can’ beleive now all of sudden she can take on 4 adults after hei trained hr for a day. THIS SHOW IS SO FUCKING LAME compared to the first one. the first one had better storyline by far, because it all came at you slowly while telling another story and giving you background information on the whole dtb world, and the action was well spaced out. SUOU SUCKS ASS SHE NEEDS TO DIE. SAILOR MOON WAS POPULAR IN THE 90Ss!! get the trannies ad chipmunk mascots out of here! this is nothing like the first season, its become a typical mainstream anime with so many cliches.
WOW…A super powerful cannon totting 12 year old loli….how original…
@ Dukenukem
I think Darker than BLACK is still far from mainstream. And, also, he’d be training her for more than one day, which that might not mean much. And, I don’t really get why fans are upset that it’s focusing on a girl. I mean, as long as Hei trains her to kick some major ass, I’m fine with whatever gender the character is, even if it was that he/she dad of Norio’s. I really like her gun though.
It’d be cool if she could summon something else later.
chill its just an anime, just watch and enjoy if not go watch something you guys do like…
for everyone asking where yin is did u not notice the images of her when suou’s amulet first activated? dont think suou is a contractor seeing as she still has emotions shes just getting power from that amulet and from what i seen i think its yins star. i hope it all clears up soon
Hell’s Gate I wanna see more!
Are your parents siblings?
Do Roman paramedics refer to IV’s as “4’s”?
“I am.” is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. How is it, then, that “I do,” is the longest sentence?
Why is it that if someone tells you that there are one billion stars in the universe, you’ll believe it, but if you’re told a wall has wet paint, you’ll have to touch it to be sure?
Hei has one serious backhand. His slaps bring blood to the little girls lips. LoL i think its hilarious. He doesnt let her mess up at all. For those of you whining…she gets a slap for messing up in his training, OR she gets DEAD for messing up when things get real. I miss Yin but im happy Mao is back. Even if its in flying squirrel form haha. This anime will pick up and i hope Hei gets back to his “mask wearing, brain zapping” self he used to be.
If Yin is’nt in that box I will punch myself in the face…
What is a cool refreshing drink for a blonde?
Perri-air
Did you hear about the blonde coyote?
Got stuck in a trap, chewed off three legs and was still stuck.
When is it legal to shoot a blonde in the head?
When you have a tire pump to reinflate it!
What is a blonde’s favorite part of a gas station?
The Air Pump!
the story is not really about hei no more
i agree with the way hei treats sous( reminds me of the dark tower by stephen king) what i hate about this season is the amount of pain hei is in and that we get an idiotic 14 year old as the lead
