NOooooo…. Why!? This is a sad one I have to say. Any who love Shirley… brace yourself… this one is a doozy. I still wonder what happened to Kallen… maybe it will be announced next episode. This new opening as great as it is… gives me the creeps. Whats happening to the Guren… is it saying those knightmares are two most powerful of rivals. Or is the King of Brit. gonna warp her mind and memory so she doesn’t remember Lelouch… that would be so shitty. Cause that gives a feeling of a Death Note end, where the ‘heros’ lose.

This episode seemed all over the place this week. Maybe its building to somthing. This was a cheap way to tie up some loose ends that may prolong and complicate the series.

I somehow knew that shirley was going to die. But i didn`t expect Rolo to kill her. I`m not really sure if Jeremiah is telling the truth. I hope so… Because he could be an useful piece.
lol who care what happens its what makes us love this show. This is one of the few shows my predictions never come true in. Rolo is a bastard though, getting jelous over her feelings for Lelouch is just well homo. (Trying to use proper terms don’t attack me.)
I’ll have to agree with NipplesArePink. this is why i love this show too though. So surprising even when it ends. I believe the story writer is a genius. the thing i just hope for is that Lelouch wins and doesn’t Die like Kira.

code geass - the show which kill off nice, pretty and lovely characters…
so far we have the 2 pretty cute girls - euphie and now shirley - killed off because of the worst (bad) coincidences that could ever possibly happen. I guess the writers do this on purpose. Because nothing hurts more than when the nicest characters are killed off…shows the cruelty of a war…and both wanted Lulu’s happiness, and only for that reason, they had to die. (they are both Lulus love as well…sort of..)This is a cruel fate the writers choosed for lulu…
lets see who dies next…somehow I see lulu at the end, finds out the truth about his mother, only that most friends of him are dead…there is a tiny possibility that nunnaly survives…lulu will end up very lonely…

I agree with Lyn. This show is extremely realistic and doesn’t spare it’s bullets. But that’s why everyone likes it. I believe you are right in saying he will win but he will be alone. After all C.C said at the very beginning “The Power of the King will help you succeed, but will make you lonely indeed.” After all, Kings are, in the end, effectively alone. Powerful but alone with nothing but enemies, traitors and very few trusted supporters that can never become anything more than simple pieces on a chessboard.
Okay, now if only Rolo would kill the actual nuisance then I’d be happy. Stupid Suzaku, he’s the one who deserves to die >:(
Okay, first off - Euphie had to die, the Laucus Clone had to die, there was just no other way around it. Second off - I kind of like Kallen better then Shirley. Shirley was like a second Relena, always getting in the damned way of everything. Thirdly - I think Lelouch could do better then the blond.
And another thing - can someone please kill Suzaku, his damned inhumane strength is so annoying! who the hell can lift two people like that? Come on Shirley doesn’t look that light, and neither does Lelouch!

For those people who still hates Rolo. Don’t forget Zero has a new chess piece, if Rolo gets troublesome Orange-kun will make sure of taking him down. Most probably Rolo will tell the truth to Lelouch at some desperate point or Lelouch may discover who did it ( It’s easy, if the bullet inside Shirley is of her own gun and almost anyone will tell Rolo went there to help him, Lelouch use logic a lot so its no impossible he discovers Rolo’s murder ).
At the end of the first season C.C. told Lelouch the power of his geass would continue increasing, now that Shirley is dead Lelouch will become Zero 24 hours of the day, no more school life so its possible his Geass upgrades to a new level ( maybe he is unable to use contacts anymore, or maybe he can cast the geass many times on the same person ).
By the way, imagine Shirley as a zombie being brought from dead due to the power of the Geass ? Hey that would rock

- Cornelia is in a cell, but the ground and lights are shaking (it means the place is under attack).

Woot Rolo is the best xD. Next to orange of course but Rolo scores the most points for killing the second most important person to Lelouch. I hope orange ends up backstabbing Lelouch =D. God damn they need more crazy physchos in here. Nina and rolo just arn’t enough. I hope they end this series with lelouch failing preferably dying and have eveything go back to normal =D. Maybe have Nunully continue to fight for the rights of the 11’s so that people can get some resolution. Thats my ideal ending for this ridiculous plot.

Shirley was my least favorite female lead, all she did was cause drama and get in the way, Rolo killed her out of jealousy cause she knew about Nunally, which I’m sure in his twisted mind was a perfectly reasonable solution. Though Lelouch might think Orange killed her now…

C.C. for the win.
I like C.C and Kallen, and didn’t like Shirley at all because she had the typical female personality. But her death does give Lelouch a common bond with Suzaku (damn this love/hate feeling I have for him) since Euphie, Suzaku’s love, met the same fate. Besides, I have a soft spot for Rolo, and judging by the fact that he was already mentally unstable before he got this bond with Lulu, jealousy on his part is coming to be expected. I would laugh if by some freakish chance, it wasn’t Rolo that killed her.
actually “hi”, from the ending it may be assumed that lelouch can use his geass repeatedly on an individual now because of the amount of times he tells Shirley not to die at the end. Although it might just be that the command to not die was impossible for her and therefore was not enacted. Who knows lol
he needs to rescue kallen already, she’s badass, although the way things are going she’ll probably just get killed off.
Eh, I dont feel anything about shirley’s death…but rolo needs to go far away…i’m sure orange will stay on lelouch’s side ( i mean he did get screwed by both factions), and we need more cornelia action because she’s the most kick ass character (after orange of course xD)

So I just got caught up today, but here is my two cents. The reason that Shirly was killed is so that Lelouch could relate to the pain that Suzaku felt when Euphie was killed, that is why there was the entire last episode showing Lelouch loving Shirly. I do hope that she isn’t dead though. Wow. Also, yeah the quality of this episode sucks.
i actually thought this episode flowed along nicely.

Listen first evidence is…CLAMP WOULD NEVER MAKE THIS SCENE TOO OBVIOUS WITH ROLO AS A KILLER…Second is…PAY ATTENTION TO THE MASKS AS IT HOLDS KEY CLUES ON THE SUSPECT…notice how everyone that has a mask Shirley encountered before R2, the only ones with masks that fell in this episode was SUZAKU AND LELOUCH (he stepped on his and broke it conveying how he was real, yet Suzakus just dropped just like the scene before shirley dies)…NEXT EVIDENCE…Replay and watch the position of the body where Shirley falls, her position and angle is different from the window…Next EVIDENCE…WATCH CLOSELY AT Rolos Geas activated..does it not surprise you that his expression was that of being shock that danger approaches or someone is coming and he has to activate it before something happens..don’t overshadow the fact that Shirley mentions Nunally is what triggered him but rather speculate that there was another person approaching and ROlo being covert and low key as he is has to escape else his cover is blown…FINAL EVIDENCE WHEN LELOUCH SEES SHIRLEY..SHIRLEY STILL HAS TIME TO SPEAK..if Rolo shot her would it not be rational to think that Shirley would tell Lelouch that other than going out with this Gibberish..She hid the killer cuz she knew it was someone close to her and Lelouch *points to that bastard Suzaku

I bet it wasnt rolo that killed her because we never say the attack. And if you think about it Shirley died to a slash wound across the chest and Orange has a sword for an arm. Also Orange killed like 5 people just to get to lulu and i doubt it was solely to pledge his loyalty.

Man, this anime just got more intense and deep. With Shirley’s death and Jerimiah’s change of side, Zero is going to go face more problems and trouble. I think Shirley’s death could trigger Lelouch’s geass to a whole new level. Now, Lelouch has to fight more, so that all the innocent and close friends did not die in vain.
One thing I really like about this anime is how they cover so many bases at once. Numerous character in numerous situations display all sides of the argument as well as bring out side to characters you may not nomrally see. That’s why I’ll miss Shirley. (Praying she survives somehow but… yeah) despite everything she never betrayed lelouch, but rather served as a key attachment to his true friends. All she wanted was to be with him and that cost her and from lelouche’s own ally no less.
Watching the episode a second time I see something I didn’t notice (Cuz of the audio timing) Rolo was cautious but he didn’t attack until Shirley mentioned Nunally. I guess he scared to death of being replaced by her. wow, kinda intense.
Wow. Not really a major character, but definately enough to get Lelouch motivated. I wonder if he will take advantage of the fact that after having the geass canceller on them Lelouch can do more to them. I think I can see him using this on Suzaku, because he really only geassed him with “Live” so he would escape as well.
rolo is only being used by zero til zero gets nunnally back. zero even said it himself a couple episodes back. well at least now jerimiyah can protect zero against rolo and everyone else.

Goddamn it. I kinda ruined it when I read the comments. But shit. I too kinda noticed that Rolo got anxious when Shirley mentioned Nunnaly. You know I thought it was bad enough when they killed off Euphie on a whim pretty much, but now Shirley? I’m not sure if this series will have a good ending. God I hope it’s not like Death Note where everyone important dies and “life goes on.” I’ve already had too much disappointment with other series like that. Namely, Death Note! I don’t think this series can have a good ending is all I’m saying. And the audio lag kinda killed the moment at times.

I used to like Rolo but now I hate him because of his stupid brother complex (even if Lelouch is not even his brother). sHIRLEY’S DEATH DIDN’T AFFECT ME SO MUCH BUT MY GAWD, WHEN lELOUCH CRIED, I FELT SO HEAERTBROKEN.
I think “Pogi” is right because now Lelouch and Suzaku are even. Because Lelou killed Euphie (which is Suzaku’s loved one) And Suzaku killed Shirley (which made Lelou remember the time of his mothers death. Shirley is like a real friend of Lelou because she did’nt tell anyone who Zero actually was) I think Lelou was traumatized of what had happened. He cried because i think that he really couldnt help her (like what happened to his mom).
Remember when Euphie was nearly dying she didnt tell it was Lelou that shot her (or whatever) and when Shirley was nearly dying aswell she didnt tell Lelou who shot her. It could be Rolo but i don’t think hed want Lelou to know that it was him because theyre fake bro relationship will deteriorate. And if it was Suzaku who shot shirley, then she didn’t want Suzaku and Lelous relationship to lessen more so she didnt tell him. Well thats my opinion.

Suzaku means “Phoenix” in Japanese. Suzaku has a Geass, the Geass of Inmortality ; Rolo activated the Geass in response to Suzaku’s appearence, most probably, Rolo was beaten up by Suzaku.
Shirley and Suzaku talk about Lelou being Zero ; Suzaku kills Shirley to even the score with Lelouch.
Rolo is taken prisoner by Suzaku, most probably Lelouch will find evidence a Geass was used on Shirley, and he will think Rolo has betrayed him in the end.
Rolo will remain loyal to Lelouch to the end ; Suzaku is the killer.

Knowing Rolo has disappeared and probably killed Shirley, that’s why he will take the burden and try to atone for Shirley’s death since its his fault for being too naive. He decides to attack the Cult’s Headquarters. Look at the end of the chapter, Cornelia is emprisoned somewhere and the lights and floor are shaking due to someones attack, Jeremiah Gottwald is on a nightmare so most probably he is one of the attackers.
Lelouch having a Geass canceller, C.C. and him fight with V.V.
By the way, remember when Lelouch killed Yuffie ? He killed her because she was under the control of Geass.
See the scene where Suzaku talks with Shirley ? She tells him he has already forgiven everything from Lelouch.
Suzaku will most probably think Shirley has become Zero’s slave and kill her for her own good, paying Zero at the same time for what he did to Yuffie.

I didn’t like Shirley all that much, since she didn’t really DO anything, but you didn’t have to go and kill her just because she reminded you that YOU’RE not Lelouch’s REAL sibling! Poor Lulu. It IS very possible Rolo wasn’t the one who killed SHirley after all, however I don’t think it was Suzaku. Even though he does want revenge on Lelouch, he wouldn’t take it out on Shirley. 1st of all it was Rolo who killed Shirley. Because he really doesn’t want to rescue Nunally he just want’s Lulu all to himself (massive obsession complex) and he is willing to do whatever Lulu asks of him just so he will be praised. However there are things that bother me… more like things that put Marianne’s charicter into question. Something tells me that she is in truth the one that has set up the downfall of Britannia by setting all these things into motion just by dying. (”Orange” Getting the Geass Canceller and revealing that he was Loyal to Marianne will be quite helpful when Lulu does face off against his father and V.V. ) Also back in season one C.C. has appearantly been talking to her as well. Meaning that they had a connection (maybe even a contract?) And if that’s the case and her Geass Power was foresight or something like that. Then she may have set all this up to make it so her son could finally end the Tyrant’s Reign.

Look guys, you’re analyzing this too much. Rolo is the killer plain and simple as were everything else up until now. This show is realistic to a fault. Rolo is an unstable killing machine that has never known love. So, as expected when Lelouch adopted him as his brother he clung to him as he was the only one who accepted him. So, When Shirley says she wishes to bring Nunnaly back Lelouch he feels threatened. Shirley would be Lelouch’s love interest and with Nunnaly back he would lose his position as Lelouch’s brother. Solution to the problem. Kill Shirley and prevent Nunnaly’s return. Also I don’t understand how you could say that Suzaku’s pain for Euphie’s death is greater than Lelouch’s. Lelouch killed her but not because he wanted to. For Christ sake he was in love with her! He even said so before he shot her. Out of everyone of the Royal Family she was the only one he truly cared for. Suzaku knew her for what, 8,9 months? Lelouch knew her and had been in love with her his whole life. He almost lost it when he killed her so don’t try to present Suzaku as the tragic hero. Lelouch has lost everything he held dear up until now and it’s not over yet.

You know… both Rolo and Orange seem to be the prime suspects of Shley’s death. But I have a feeling that the producers will find a way to deviate it and make another unexpected plot twist. Because accusing Rolo/Orange seems too easy, and just defending one of these two is easy. I do hope she doesn’t come back, even though I sort of liked her in the end. And yeah, bringing those who are supposd to be dead in the plot is bloody annoying. Shirley’s sort of useless in the plot, aside the fact she may bethe reason why Lelouch is so attached to his school.
