I must say, I like Clare even more now after this episode. Although she didn’t raise an eyebrow most of the time, she did show quite a few hidden emotions there. I wonder what kept her from crying as she slew her only friend. I’ll blame it on the Youma.
It keeps surprising me that she tells her part of her story to Raki, although she only knows him for a few days. Sure, it is probably because she finds his situation similar to hers when she was a child, as it has been stated by the man from the organization. But even that little bit of affection is, for such a person deprived of love, quite wonderful. If nobody knew that the Claymore were half-Youma, I bet society would accept them much easily. Yes, Clare’s definitely more human than she looks like. She needs moar love!!

Very nice series. Although I’ve watched only this one, it seems it
will get very interesting.
How sad that Claire has to kill her only friend. there aren’t many perks to being a claymore.
Just watched the first two episodes, and definitely getting the popcorn out to watch the rest. Apart from Naruto & Bleach, is there anything else out there of a similar genre?
Most of the anime out there appears to be lacking lately.
to dan. u should watch the series Blood+. it is a anime much like this one, but with an incredible story and characters. there are only 50 episodes and it is finished so u won’t have to wait for more episodes.
about this show. I love it:) gonna watch the rest of the episodes and then start on another anime:)
this is a great series, but did anyone else notice that in the first episode, the subtitles spelt her name clare and in this episode, it is spelt with an i, claire….. just something i picked up

Why does every character feel the need to point out that Claymores are human demon hybrids, and why does that kid act surprised every time? Also, feels like a bit of a Berserk rip-off.

not bad…bleach is still my alltime fav…but i do like the whole half human half demon thing…kinda reminds me of ichigo and how he is half soul reaper half hallow.
You guys should read the manga.

this is a great anime,but it is totally different from the manga.in the manga the leader of the village were rakis from is a yoma,and clair kills him in the first episode
To Dan B another good anime in this kind of genre would be elfen lied, or blood + like the othe person said. or kurozuka
Oh yeah! and afro samruai and samurai champloo. Very good anime indeed
um in the manga, raki’s village leader wasnt a youma, it was still his brother. in the next village after that it was the elder.
