I think I finally get it.
The girl is representing tomi (for short)’s hope/strength
when she started to walk in the snow was right when he met his daughter and started feeling said again, when his daughter died, she fell.
Waaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! This is an absolutely incredible anime. It makes you run the whole gamut of emotions from happy to sad and broken with all the other emotions sprinkled liberally in between. And the whole while it still keeps you at the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. Thank you so much for posting this!!!
Clannad The After Story is slated for a total of 24 episodes, so there should still be 3 episodes left. I hope there’s some kind of happy ending to this and that it doesn’t end up like School Days.

@COBRAKAIneverDIES, you went a little overboard.. tomoYA(not tomoYO) will not kill anyone. the worst ending the visual novel gave was the 3 of them(nagisa, ushio, then tomoya) died. the good ending was that tomoya was able to change the past and nagisa and ushio lived. There is no killing intent in the story, so don’t expect another school days in clannad. ^^
omfg this has to be the saddest episode so far btw its alredy subbed on other sites, the last part where uchiro dies she says papa disuke(papa i love u) and he is like nooo uchirooooooooooo nagime save her somebody save her i could not stop crying

According to wikipedia this series will have 22 normal episodes and one extra (?) episode. And the title from episode 22 is ‘The palm of a small hand’. So i think it will be the happy ending because the title doesn’t sound sad or depressing. So, this should cheer some worried people up:)

Omg, I hope Ushio didn’t die! I cried so much when Nagisa died, but I cried so much when this little girl was dying and I will cry so much more if she actually does die. I love her! T_T Please don’t die Ushio!

im an adult and a father to boot so i cried when i watched the ending of this episode i would cry and cry and go insane if this ever happened to my daughter my children are my world. but its sad to lose your wife and hen your baby girl 5 yrs later.enough of this cry baby routine i loved this ANIME!!!!!

I actualy started to cry when Tomoya held Ushio at the end there… I love this anime its the first that has ever reached me this emotionaly before…
1 of 2 things happens in the next episode first is that he commits scuicide and the seconed is that he gos to a diffrent world he is the boy made of junk, he hass to collect the light of happyness or something when he does this he goes back to where she is having the baby but this time she dosnt die and ushiro dosnt die in the future ether so its ether a sad ending or a happy 1 but one of those 2 is deffently the ending

If the ending of this anime is like Tomoya committing suicide or more people die. This anime is shit, and I will finally realize that I have wasted so much time watching this anime for this.

Noo! ushio! that makes me sad. I knew it was coming but i still cried. That was so sad. T_T I hope that the ending will be the one where they all live. And i can’t believe the next episode is the last 1! its going to end at 22? o.O i don’t want it to end! this anime has made me realize things about life and it has touched me. This is by far one of the most emotional anime I have ever seen and it speaks to you. It makes you realize things you have never realized. I really hope that every lives and i really don’t want it to end! And you guys are mean when you guys say you want everyone to die and tomoya with them. >_< clannad forever….

Wow still haven’t let the tears out…but good freakin series. 5/5 for the music…big reason why the sad scenes are sadder than they really should be….what am I saying even without the music its a pretty damn emotional scene!
More authors now are making tragic endings, why is that?

When watching this anime, keep picturing ushio with a very very long beard, and Okazaki wearing a clown suit. It works. I LOVE THIS SHOW!
