good to hear the announcement for sub timeline. the story is really strong foundation, it like a big tree of ideas to get develop into many branches-that’s make story get longer. this is second best after Code Geas. the writer sure is mastermind like naruto’s writer. i really overwhelmed exciting to watch more more
^ Naruto is nowhere near good enough to be called a masterpiece, dont try to compare that childish storyline to geass, death note, or any of the more mature shows; Naruto went downhill after the “retrieve sasuke” arc… only people still following it are the brainwashed idiots and the people who refuse to drop something they wasted so much time on (im the latter)

chrome shelled is actually scheduled for 24 episodes…
Dart: Aquastar Anime has a few releases of chrome shelled regios manga, and they are the ones I recommend. Onemanga also has the manga. There seems to be two versions of the manga: “Chrome Shelled Regios” (3 chapters) and “Chrome Shelled Regios – Missing Mail” (4 chapters). These manga seem to differ in their “point of view”s (Nina and {L/R}ayfon).
what: The atrocious “Engrish” cut-scenes that are included.
Boo: Absolutely correct, but there is a third option: OCD. It’s not that I don’t want to put it down but more that I feel I cannot. I have given up all hope for the anime (yes I still watch it) but the manga seems to be coming to a nice close. And if you are looking for “mature” storyline, forget your shounen and even most seinen; What you need to watch are a select number of shoujo and the majority of josei. The shows geared toward women are the ones that hold the most sophisticated and developed stories. The majority of men are more visual stimulated then women. Therefore, most josei and some shoujo rely more on what most men would see as “bathos” themes. It’s essentially all preference. I understand that most shoujo storylines can be just as pathetic as naruto and other (what you called “childish”) anime. The majority of shoujo are melodramatic trash.
Anthony: I suppose 24 is the best we can hope for. The manga has hardly begun, and the anime is soon to be full of crap thought up on a whim. I feel sorry that the anime started so soon. This could easily be one to continue for 100 episodes.

hah: A light novel? This is news to me, but I’m not an expert on “Chrome shelled regios” either; That is consoling. We can only hope this isn’t another great story murdered by a crappy anime. (Or just a terrible ending for that matter. I mean, I love Ken Akamatsu’s works, and I feel that Mahou Sensei was tainted when, budget issues I believe, forced the anime to wrap itself up in a way very inconsistent to the manga) ~cheers
lamenting: I think 12 and 24 are the most common in terms of anime duration. Both are a good guess. Only the anime (is it just me who wonders whether or not to put an ‘s’ at the end of Japanese words? pluralizing Japanese terms just sounds off)with “something special” last, and sadly, most of the anime that run for extended periods of time suck because they appeal directly to a younger audience who normally have the time to obsess over it.

Boo: Most of these people commenting could speak Japanese 10 times better than “that” English (I think it may be automated English). Japanese is an extremely sound poor language that only has a few syllables that we English speakers don’t use. Memorizing a Japanese dialogue for 40 seconds and speaking it is not difficult. Although I will be honest, strong dialect and a Germanic Indo-European speaking mindset –you know, compound words and meshing syllables– really hurt those trying to speak Japanese like they are speaking English.
MinikuipNL: Amen. It is not that difficult to pull some off the streets of Tokyo.
Wheels: I agree with you; I have been there and back, but you end up spewing just as much hate in your comment as everyone else. People, I know others like to tell you all the time, “You idiots just don’t know how much work it takes.” and the like but here are some solid reasons why:
1) Subbers and TL teams have lives. SHOCKER. All these people have to be in the right place at the right time. There is a process to how things work and sometimes jobs of the subtitled episode require a previous part to be finished. And that previous part may be done by some guy/gal who isn’t around for a day or so.
2) The quality of the audio. RAWS are not always easy to come by. Sometimes you receive crap, and the sound is so jacked-up that hearing the Japanese is next to impossible. I mean, sometimes when audio is screwy, I cannot hear my own native language, much less my second language. (and good RAWS take much more than just good audio)
3) Not everything translates to English. There are cultural differences and things that we never ever ever say in English. Things that foreign Japanese speakers immediately acknowledge without Translating. It has been said that the pinnacle of learning another language is when you don’t have to translate it to your own. When you think and feel in that foreign language.
4) Lack of experience. Many Translators, myself included, have little to know experience and quite possibly suck at translating. Again, me. Finding good translators is somewhat rare, and when you do, you often run into problem 3. I used to spend a good 30 minutes translating per minute of audio in an anime.
5) I know there are many more factors I am mulling over because this writing is tiresome. Just trust me; Subbing is never fun.
Oh…I remember a definite 5). I have a big middle finger for kansai and osakan dialect, especially you kansai. I ****ing hate you.
