It is the last episode and it finished splendidly!! Did Fon-fon save the day? Oooh yeaaah!! Did he kill Goru’s crazy, killer brother or did he disappear into the other dimension where apparently Saya exists, along with the berserk electronic fairy?
I hope this final episode answered the questions I had about the dimensions and what Fon-fon’s roll was in saving the people of his.
The biggest question still on my mind is how did the world get in such a horrible state? Will they ever be able to live outside of the regios?
Okay, those are enough questions to begin with. Now I’ll wait for the subbed version.

i think thats going to be it for this anime.i got the impression that the way they wrapped it up with zuellni riding off into the sunset.this wouldn’t be the first good anime to be shelved with just 20 something episodes.

Well, damn, they let a lot of loose ends hanging. Wish they’d stop doing that crap. Still good anime, but so much I would love to have expounded on. Like Leerin and the Haikikuzu within her. Whatever happened to that Saya girl and her role in all of this. What was the meaning behind that child screaming, and being split in half, at the sametime the Filth Monster. Are heavenly blades sentient to an extent to choose their own mastery. And the list goes on. All of this could never be covered in just 20min.

If this is the last EP AND if there is no second season then this will leave so many questions open so that I would have to say despite liking this Anime that it SUCKS!! You can’t make an Anime full of mysteries! At some point all/nearly all questions have to be answered or it is just a piece of Bull!

I just have one thing to say, and that is this. In my opinion, this ending is a let down. Or at least they played down the fight scenes, I won’t spoil it any farther than that, but those who have watched it should know what I mean. Other than that, they seem to have wrapped up the small stuff, but the larger events concerning the survival of mankind are still in the air should they choose to do a second season. If they do though, I’m curious about how the setting will work since the two key characters do not live in the same Regios. However, it could be arranged similar to how it was created in this one. However, if they choose that course of action, it will be more difficult to keep it unique for how they meet up again… Just my take on things, if you wish to burn it to the ground, go ahead.

Ending really wasn’t that good, layfon lost his heavens blade and the psyharden katana, leerin went back to grendan, and his relationships haven’t really changed at all for quite a few episodes. Not to mention the world as it is now and saya’s part wasn’t really explained.

But that Heavens Blade Katana was the coolest weapon in the series imo.
Too bad it had to end like this, lets hope for those who read the 2 (or is it 3) mangas that are out for it get a more clear understanding of what is going on. Then again the way the manga is split up might confuse you more plus the mang is moving super slow motion right now lol.

Don’t you love how Layfon takes everyone out in 3 seconds…it’s like he’s the supreme being or something.
No explanations, battle scenes always conclude with “Layfon gets serious, enemy die in 1 hit” made an otherwise interesting anime one of the worst I’ve seen in the past few years. The execution absolutely sucked.
I hope they do a good job in season two. If they need a good example on how to leave cliffhangers but explain enough to keep you hooked they should go watch Code Geass.
Oh and may I add that besides the first episode we never saw Layfon use the Heaven’s blade, and we never saw him use the katana, and now in this episode all of a sudden he gets both, and THEY MERGE DBZ STYLE? WTF??
They might as well make Layfon and crew all speak in that crappy English in season 2 – that’ll really be amusing, and I bet some of the posters up there will be like “HOLY COW THEY SPEAKU AMERICAN THIS **** HOT LIKE NACHOS”

This is why I said you guys would like it if they started speaking English. In one hit he completely dominated the monster. They made it look like he could finish it without the cannon’s help And before that, he just grabbed the heaven’s blade and finished savaris in 1 hit. WTF? He killed another heaven’s blade with 1 hit????????
And did you see him ride on top of the sword, only later to decide “oh actually i forgot, I can fly!!” and start flying towards the monster? Is he riding on the sword just for show??
Nothing in this show makes sense. We don’t even know who Gerouch is. Yes season two better help, but you’re supposed to explain some things to keep the viewer hooked, not have all this action without explaining anything or why it happened. Do you even know what Ignasis is?? I sure don’t. I like how Nina a few episodes ago was like “Ignasis….can they be referring to….?” Oh yea, good idea – only you know it and keep ALL viewers in the dark. And why can they teleport in and out at will? They were supposed to be expelled military artists. Do you know why they got so powerful all of a sudden?
Oh, and did you notice that this was supposed to be some tense match between Grendan and Zuellini, before the Filth monsters just suddenly appeared? Then after they killed the monster, Grendan just left??? Why did they come in the first place??
If you thought this was a good ending, you have no taste for storyline and character development. They wrapped things up without explaining more than half of the story, and most importantly, what they’re fighting against. I personally thought the show had a lot of potential, but a lot of the episodes didn’t make any sense to me. Things were rushed left and right, and when the enemy is about to win, Layfon gets serious. Yup, all he has to do is get serious, and he’ll kill the enemy in 1 blow. Name 1 guy he didn’t do that to after he got serious. He got serious with the Gang guy and killed him with 1 slash. He did that again in another previous episode. He did that to everyone throughout this whole show.
Go watch the episodes again and prove me wrong. It’ll help you mature as a viewer too, so less people will accept this kind of crap.
I more or less agree with NoExplanation. To add to it, I would say the creators attempted to do too much at one time. They seemed to have plenty of amazing ideas, but because they tried to incorporate all of them into Chrome Shelled, it created a “rushed” atmosphere. In order to introduce all the different things they were trying to do with the story, they had to hurry from one event to another without taking the proper time to explain what was occurring. If they had taken it a bit slower, tried to do a few less things, it could have been infinitely better. Such as removing the Haikizouku aspect. Yes, it is a cool idea, but what did it do in the end? It was introduced as this amazing power that could overwhelm most things, yet Layfon defeated it in a single blow. I personally believe just removing this one little bit could have left more time within the series to pursue other, more important details. Like deeper explanation into the english “tv” series, or perhaps a deeper look into the Queen of Grendan, and her intentions.
Sigh, what a frickn let down….I mean what about Layfon x Nina…anyone into that?? In the end, it seemed like Layfon x frickn Leerin….damn it, besides the lack of episodes/explanation….

Second season doesn’t save it from its utter lack of explanation and execution. You have to draw the line between keeping just enough from the viewer to keep them wanting to come back and explain nothing and confusing the viewer to the point of frustration.
By the time season two comes I would have completely forgotten the storyline, because it makes no sense. All I would remember was that Layfon OTKs everything he meets and gets all the girls he wants.
Oh, and maybe I would remember Gerouch too because he’s such a random twist in the plot. It’s almost as if the makers were trying to make fun of their own anime’s lack of development.

I agree with u at some points but i also think you are a retard if you didn’t know why Grendan was there. The queen said Gendan was there because she found out thats the location where the filth monster was going to show up, didn’t you fucking hear that? Another thing about Gerouch is that he was the protector of Saya(although we pretty much don’t know who the fuck he is). Also, why are u hating who layfon does things? Yes, the guy surfed on the sword, so what, should he defeat the monster while hes surfing on the sword? And why is it wrong for layfon to finish of his opponents in one blow? It just shows how badass he is and who the are weak.
I know that a good amount of questions got unanswered but why are you pointing out things that doesn’t need to be pointed out? Unless you figured out that most of the people who watch this show here is retarded i don’t think it need to be pointed out.
Anyway, this series deserves a second season to answer some questions to offset the not so good ending.

What an unsatisfying ending. They could have gone into so much more depth had they released more episodes. Well, hopefully they air the second season soon.

Yes I am hating on the anime, and the people who keep raving about how great the ending was and how great the anime is. I am tired of people raving about animes that end without an ending and encouraging the producers to make more mindless scenes packed full of drama and action that we have no idea about. I want people to know that THIS ENDING SUCKED so if they tried to make another one like this in the future, they’d know we won’t be appeased with 1000 unanswered questions, a cliffhanger all the way to mars, and Layfon killing all obstacles without any challenges. As soon as he’s serious, they’re all dead. What’s the point of watching a show like that?

Thanks for bringing up why I hate layfon OTKing everyone. Do you know plot development? Character development? Since when was it fun to watch a whole season where whenever a worthy opponent appears, you know “oh as soon as Layfon gets serious, he’ll kill him no problem?” Is that what you want to watch?? What’s the thrill when Layfon can pretty much kill everyone with one blow whenever he wants to get serious?
And yes, I thought surfing on the sword was really STUPID. If you can fly, why surf on a freaking sword? It just reinforces that this is the Layfon kick everyone’s arse show and not Chrome Shell Regios, because at the end of the day I learned:
1)Layfon kicks butt whenever he wants
2)Layfon gets all the girls
3)Filth monsters appear so Layfon can show his buffness
4)All 11 heavens blade seem weaker than Layfon because they showed episode after episode of Savaris destroying filth monsters with his fist and Layfon destoryed him with one blow
5)All 11 Heavens blade are fodder for Layfon to show how buff he is
6)Therefore Layfon Kicks butt
7)Therefore Layfon gets all the girls

Another good series that doesn’t resolve any of the issues and leaves everything wide open. It’s an all too common trend nowadays, and it’s really freaking annoying. Hopefully they’ll make a second season to wrap things up.
NoExplanation… They did explain who Gerouch is. Gerouch is the guy Layfon cut the arm off of in the arena match. Also, Savaris is the ONLY Heaven’s Blade receiver Layfon has fought. He hasn’t fought any others.
To explain the sword flying, it is because the new sword has different modes to it, just like Layfon’s sword dite. With the combined size of both his Sword and Katana, it was able to form into a board he could project his Kei through to propel him through the air. This is further proven when Layfon shouts, “Katana, Heaven’s Blade!” just as he jumped off. This is a signal for the blade to switch modes, turning it back into a sword for combat.
I believe it was also hinted by the Haikizoku itself when it first met Layfon, that Layfon had abilities as great as it’s own, but that he lacks the means to bring it out (his Dite couldn’t handle such kei, no Dite can besides a Heaven’s Blade). So when Saya (assuming this part, but it is pretty much confirmed from the Queen stating Layfon was chosen, etc, etc) sent the Heaven’s Blade sword back to Layfon, he was able to bring out most of his latent powers. The combination of the Psyharden Katana with the Heaven’s Blade further brings out Layfon’s untapped power since he is trained in the way of the Katana rather than the straight sword.
Now that I’ve explained those, I’d have to say the rest of the story needs some explaining.
And to reiterate my stance, I don’t mind a season 2. I thought this anime began with some great concepts, started unwinding around the middle, and now is ending with an absolute train wreck. I am an anime fan, and I know the difference between good anime and bad anime. One of the most common reasons why a Manga translates bad to anime is because the TV company wants to change the plot to fit the season (24-26 episodes) and suit their target audience. In the end, the writer has to compromise quality for a lot of dumb, crappy drama.
I want people to stand up for these bad diluted plots and demand for something better. I want these TV companies to stop appeasing us with cliches (great animation, great music) and totally forget plot and character development. I want anime with great potential to FULFILL their potential, instead of garnering a mindless crowd of zombie supporters who have no idea what’s going on with the plot but think the anime is so cool. That’s just encouraging the TV companies to dilute it more. Sure, you got X girls loving the main character because he’ll kill them all with 1 hit, and you don’t have to know what’s going on – just know the next “buff opponent” is around the corner, but he’ll die to one well timed Layfon blow.
Call me rebellious, but I like my anime with quality. And the ones in here I’m calling out, you know who you are. Those of you with better sense and taste know exactly what I’m talking about.
Oh yeah, perfect evidence that Gerouch is the guy Layfon chopped the arm off, Savaris himself says he killed his big brother’s teacher who had became a filth monster. There was only one person in the entire anime who fits that description, the guy who looked like a freak of nature shouting, “Layfon Alseif!”

I appreciate your explanations, but again, how did he know that the swords would combine? And boy, he sure learned how to use it quick (I just got it, and I’ve never had both swords combine before, but man I know a katana blade surfboard when I see one?!)
I think you’re really perceptive to catch all of that, because I didn’t, but at the same time, it doesn’t address my complaints because
1) You had to infer a lot of the info, and you’re basing it mostly on clues that were given throughout the show. I’m not saying this is bad, but rather you don’t infer major story developments, and if you do, give us some info and then infer other things.
2) None of the loose ends are tied together. Hey, if Gerouch was that guy who got his arm cut off, why in the world is he speaking poor English throughout most of the show? Yes, maybe they can explain it in season 2. But, ending it here, with me trying to figure out what just happened, it’s just not satisfying. They’ve given us nothing but questions and they want us to come back to watch season 2? Give me somethings substantial to dwell on, so I would be happy to see what else develops.
Again, I think you were really insightful to catch a lot of that. It’s too bad that major storylines shouldn’t be hidden left and right for you to guess.

The thing about Dites though, a user can actually sense the abilities that lie within them. So it isn’t really much of a stretch to say Layfon learned the how to use the blade 100% in such a short time. Especially since the anime makes him out to be a bloody ****ing god. Seriously, can no one actually BEAT his *** to the point he ain’t coming back to whup on them a couple minutes later?! Really now…
Fellow Psyharden dude had his Katana, whacked on Layfon, spanked that *** for a while. Pisses Layfon off, Psyharden boy is now on the ground. Wtfl0x?!
Savaris rick rolls Layfon for a while, Heaven’s Blade comes out of nowhere cause Saya decides, “I shall choose you to carry this fate!!!” W/e that is, bam, Savaris gets rick rolled in ONE SHOT. Granted, Savaris was playing with Layfon, but jesus crap christ, look at all that damage he did toying with him! Boy look like he could have had some fractured bones, yet out of nowhere, he busts Savaris’ **** with one hit, USING the dude’s own powers against him. Nice!
I can accept your over-powered teenage who pretty much is god on earth. A lot of animes run with this theme. I mean, look at Setuna from Gundam 00. But what always gets me is when they barely explain how the lil twerps come about with this power. Oh gee, yeah, he was born with it, we know, but what circumstances are required to create this supreme being? That’s what I wanna know.
There better be a season two, after reading the subs, I better get a season two or there will be hell to pay. I want some explaination to Saya, and Gerouch (just incase I am wrong on that part). Leerin and the fact she has a haikizoku within her, and why it hasn’t gone all rampage. Why Leerin doesn’t seem to remember the previous domed city she was at, and how it was destroyed, thus creating the Haikizoku that is protecting Rin-Rin. WHAT THE HELL WAS THE MEANING BEHIND THAT CHILD SCREAMING WHEN THE FILTH MONSTER WAS SPLIT IN TWO!!!! That has been BUGGING me since I saw it. What the **** was with that!? Them dudes in the masks I can pretty much ignore. It was like, noise up until the end. Literally the end. They held no plot value at all. Which was a negative.

Again, I have to agree….. The time it takes to write this, is the time it takes to think it up. Which is not all that long. Or at least it shouldn’t be as one is simply replying to what other people wrote, while including your own feedback.
Again, yes. Rather than include something like the dying slave, cut it out entirely and use the screen time it took up to bring perhaps another loose end to an end. But at this point, there is no more use in me bitching about this ending since it is over and my petty words are not going to change anything about this anime. Have fun people, and if they bring out a season two then everything I have said to this point might stand to be corrected, and I hope that happens but I’m not willing to place money on it.

Everyone here wants to see the next masterpiece anime every season, but your the only one foolish enough to expect it. No need to put down fans of this anime because you are confused, they are just enjoying anime for what it is, a great art full of unexpected surprises.

i heard that the manga is farther than the anime except it isn’t for free viewing on the internet. there has been some people in the internet giving spoilers as to what happens in the story. One spoiler given by one person who has read the manga (according to that person) is that Layfon dies in the end.
To all the people ranting the show..*shrugs* it was nice, fonfon was/is OP but the show is nice, although this episode does kinda suck..
On the other hand, I think this episode just proves there will (hopefully) be another season with all the odd unfinished things, I wont tell anything about it so I wont spoil it for those who didnt watch the episode yet. So who knows, maybe we can watch FonFons awesomeness in new episodes soon=D

Overall anime started out kinda good and ended pretty badly, everything is far to rushed and layfon seems far to overpowered.

Have you seen bad anime before? I would call that the unfortunate art of unexpected and unexplained surprises. At every turn. To the point where you don’t know why you’re watching it anymore. And they’re making more and more of these kinds of anime these days, because people don’t care about the understanding the content. The more twists to a story, the buffer the characters are, the more mindless fans jump on the bandwagon. The story doesn’t have to make sense. It just got to have lots of action and surprise you at every turn.
If you still insist on watching anime like that I’d recommend you stay away from the good ones because they’ll BORE you to death with their consistency.
Finally, I’m not really pointing the flamethrower at anybody in particular, but when you respond negatively back I suppose somewhere down there you assume I’m talking about you…;P

I agree with NoExplanation. Unexpected surprises should be accompanied with some sort of explanation, otherwise the anime is just throwing mindless crap at the audience.
This anime does not deliver.
It keeps being on the verge of being exciting, but in the end I found that it always misses the jump and falls on its ass. Probably because of the lack of explanations.
What bothers me most though, is that nothing happened in the end. Nothing changed, nothing was explained and noone gained anything. Kinda pointless.
And whats with the main character being seemingly flawless? Nothing challenges him at all, and he could have sex with 5 girls simultaniously if he wanted. He could probably tie every monster in the show together, throw them into space, restore the atmosphere and rebuild the world all by himself.
I really expected more of this anime.
Lololol wtf was that? Layfon just merged the two weapons without knowing it was gonna do, THEN starts sky surfing on it, THEN gets on the back of the monster and just slices it, cannon blast and done. Its like he beats everyone in 5 seconds, he so pwned goku -_-

GREAT ANIME, but ended WAY too abruptly… >_<… up till ep.23 it was a pretty smooth ride but ep. 24 just don’t cut it. I feel somehow betrayed by the creators, it was as if they were replaced by a random group of artists/newbies just for the final episode.
I suppose there will be a second season (sure hope so), but even then, they (authors) did a pretty bad job to announce a S2. They should have simply ended it with Nina being saved or taken into Grendan by/from Savaris or anything (i don’t care as long as it isn’t a patched up rushed last minute work) on that level and then announce that the rest will come in S2. It would have stayed on a smooth track and nobody would have been so frustrated (maybe I am the only one), even better: everyone would be happily expecting S2 (even if it comes years laters, like Darker than Black).
But hey, even Bleach producer had some common sense in keeping a good sensible pace and even taking the time to explain the 9th season “Syūsuke Amagai arc” middle way rip of the “Hueco Mundo arc”.
Anyways, for comparisons, “Hero Tales” started with lots of great possibilities but ended with a somehow sour taste; it just ended too quickly but AT LEAST it wasn’t a butt-on-fire-rushed-job. “Chrome Shelled Regios” had even greater potential and storyline, but ep. 24 ended it with a train wreck (too much in too little time).
Heck, if it ends like this and there is no S2/OVA/Film or whatsoever sequel, I deeply regret having watched and loved it.
Good idea for an anime, but put together like a blind and retarded 3 year old. We as fans don’t all understand the writers thought process one bit. Maybe they shoved everything together to make the second season really long and amazing, or because the the sponsors/tv companies are trying to go for their goal of only 24 episodes. Like everyone else with positive or negative criticism all we can do now is wait for
what the future will hold for this anime. Depending on the outcome of their decision to create a sequel will ultimately
make my opinion on this show. So for now i guess it will be like i havent seen one episode and have been slapped in the face several times for no reason, because thats kinda what it feels like right now.

well..the ending was nice but then overall, it is really confusing, they did not really explain things well. well i understand why some of you hate this anime maybe cause of it not explaining well..but then at least the story plan is nice

Especcialy since the show wasnt as shit as it is now in the first 5 episodes or so.
Then use your common sense and figure out, “Why should i stop watching a show thats short and was good in the first few episodes”
Theres a difference between liking the first 5+ episodes and then having the show not making sense in the future episodes, NOW hating it from the first episode and to carry on watching is a different story.

there will definitely not be any follow-ups to this anime. dunno if there is any more filling/explaining manga to the theme in this series. maybe there will be released one. Dunno. anyways… that ending ruined everything. first of all now I know what those dog people are. had seriously hoped that they would be something like and electonic fairy instead. and that saya girl. I wish they could make the anime in two parts with more happening of either side of that so-called dimension of theirs. and the fighting also sucks. allmighty my ass. I bet some of the girls in girls bravo second season last episode could kick all of their asses

The Ending definitely left more questions than answers. Too much about those electronic fairies was left open and with Leerin. It’s sad that they rushed the ending. I agree with AntiSpiral and scuba stevee, there will never be a perfect anime and why should one should bash others for enjoying a series whether if lived up to individual’s standards.
I really have no time to read all the posts but i found that a lot of people complaining that there was a severe lack of explanation and inconsistencies and all I can think is, are you guys idiots? I might be a little too harsh in saying this, maybe it was just because i watched the episodes all together but I had very few problems with this anime.
If you go back and re-watch you will find they spread information gradually while at other times giving a lot but its all there. I still can’t believe someone complained about him riding the sword at the end. It’s pretty obvious that riding the sword was faster and also used less Kei then if he used his kei to “fly.” Btw he can’t fly atm because if you look back he can only use his kei like a burst or a blast sending him into the air. Also it didn’t hurt that it looked cool.
BTW no this requires no research but common sense. Everything I have found that people are complaining about with very few exceptions have explanations.
FYI the few unexplained this are unexplained because they are left for season 2 which they were probably hoping to make. What would they do if you they didn’t have any loose ends. They would have to invent a whole new plot for another season which people don’t like because they have nothing to base it on. They left enough loose ends so that in season 2 they can explain it all.
The anime is entertaining, but not sure why others are always comparing it to other anime.

code geass – loved this anime, but some parts are terrible as well, suzaku was so overpowered – killed the knight of one so easily.

It’s a fuc**** fantasy story, with huge monsters coming from another dimension in an alternate world.
That by itself is an excuse for the lack of sense in the anime, such as surfing a huge katana through the sky.
However I must say I think that the ending could be much better, unless they plan on a 2nd season, in which case the ending is OK
Also, what’s wrong with an almighty protagonist?? I find them very cool
