Kenichi episode 40 “The Promised Land! Everything Starts from Here”
Well, I’m glad that this follows Aroduc’s Third Law of Anime: “Incest in Anime.” Everybody is eventually either related to everybody else, or grew up together. To the surprise of nobody, because of the OP, turns out that Miu, Odin (Ryuuto), and Kenichi grew up together and Kenichi got his pin from them. Whoopie doo. There, I just saved you 24 boring minutes of flashbacks and 20 minutes of hearing about four different versions of the original opening theme. Bleh. At least there’s fighting next week, though I don’t think I could stand another flashback laden monstrosity.

Later, Kenichi and Miu spots Kisara taking care of an abandoned kitten, and decides to help her find a home for the kitten. Seeing that Kisara has made contact with Kenichi and Miu, Freya's personal guards attack her for her supposed betrayal.

Kenichi episode 35 “No Burdens! The Time of Conclusion Arrives.”
The final chapter in the Kenichi vs Hermit showdown. Something of an aside, but does anybody else out there really hate the 2nd OP? Why couldn’t they use the PS2 game’s OP instead? So much better done, even if it lacks delicious Renka. It contains actual direction and animation though, as well as sexy Miu with her hair down. I feel so cheated. No, no, no… Hermit versus Kenichi did not ended with a draw, the fight continue with Kenichi emerge as the victor! Well, even though Hermit was defeated but he lost in a cool way; he lost his consciousness but he was on his two legs standing! It reminds me of Rock Lee from Naruto when he lost to Gaara. Overall, it’s an interesting episode, but I was hoping see more action from the First Fist.

Kenichi episode 34 “Don’t Lose! The Last words of a Loved One.”
Well, it’s not like I’m a Hermit’s supporter but I really hope that Hermit will beat Kenichi since it’s more interesting if the story to develop that way. Anyway, the battle between Tanimoto and Kenichi has ended with a draw but Loki steps in to continue fighting with Kenichi. There’s still no winner at the end but based on the situation, Loki is at major disadvantage…This wasn’t a particularly good episode of Kenichi, especially after how well done last week was. It was literally the 8 minute mark before there was any new content at all, and the next 5 minutes or so were more flashbacks about Hermit’s past. Alright, we get it. He has a sister complex because his died. Let’s get back to fighting and comedy already. At least next week is the end of the Hermit vs Kenichi battle.

Kenichi episode 31 “Honoka I’ll Save You”
Oh, a nice episode about Honoka where she accidentally bump into Tanimoto (Hermit) who looks like been bullied on the street, not. Honoka tries to save him by calling out his big brother but Kenichi was not there at the time and it was Honoka herself that ended up getting help from Tanimoto. Later, the 2 is getting pretty close but nothing happens to her since he doesn’t know about her relationship with Kenichi…
