Gundam Unicorn Novelist Outlines 1st Anime Installment

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novelist Harutoshi Fukui has revealed some details about this winter’s anime adaptation of his work in an interview for the Mainichi Shimbun paper’s Mantan Web site on Wednesday. Fukui says he has seen how the anime is developing up until the script and storyboard stages. According to the novelist, the first anime installment will last about one hour and will incorporate material from the first two novel volumes. Fukui says that the anime feels like a reconstruction due to the inclusion of ideas developed between himself and scriptwriter Yasuyuki Muto (Afro Samurai: Resurrection, Le Chevalier D’Eon, Persona -trinity soul-). Still, Fukui emphasizes that the anime is very faithful to his original Gundam Unicorn novels, compared to films adapted from his other works.
