    anyone get the feeling that Muramasa’s true power is to actually just create a double of the shinigami’s zanpaktou and in doing so spawns doubt within the shinigami preventing them from releasing their zanpaktou’s power and abilities?

    basically the manga hasnt shown his zanpaktous name / realease / any info on it at all. so wouldnt go down well if the anime showed it b4 the manga, its kinda a social foe pah in japan (i know i cant spell :P).

    but i love this filler arc, TIS TEH BOMB!

    I agree with shiromaki, Muramasa is not Kenpatchi’s.

    Also, Muramasa said it took a while for them to convince Cap.Commander’s Zanpakuto to join them in one of the 1st episodes. So, I believe that we can rule out the Captain Commander as being a part of the scheme, too.

    muramasa ISNT kenpachi’s zanpaktou. hes already said hes killed his wielder, and kenpachis a main char so cant die else the main story arc is void. ALSO zanpaktou are mirrors of a shinigamis soul, therefore his cant be all magic powered since he himself is just raw power and cant use the demon arts… like at all.

    usually takes 12 hr’s for the subs and Japan is a day ahead of us soo that same day the subs should be out no later than 11pm Tuesday night so plz quit complaining about the damn subs wow!

    You guys should listen to Dispair, there is no way in hell a filler would trump the main cannon by revealing Ken’s Zanpaktou, never! You will notice the only characters in the fight are the ones who have had major revelations about their Zanpaktou.

    Can you imagine the outrage if Ken communes with his sword for the first time in a filler? Even revealing his Zanpaktou’s name would be a sin to all Bleach manga fans. Use yer heads, drop the ‘Muramasa is Kenpatchi’s Zanpaktou’ talk, its getting silly. =P

    My Hypothesis. Renji was able to release his shikai because his decided his purpose was to get stronger, just like his Zanpaktou’s Instinct/nature.

    So my guess is now that Hisagi wants to kill kill his own Zanpaktou, he’ll be able to wield release Kazeshini again because he’ll accepting Kazeshini’s Instinct/nature.

    I think once a shinigami acts according to their Zanpaktou’s nature, they’ll be able to wield them again.

    This episode was amazing!!! Wi;; have to agree with most of you….his power only copies the Zanpaktou, which causes shinigami to lack confidence in their powers so they cant release the sword once they realize that they are the source of their own power then they can release the sword again. Also I have a feeling that Itchigo is going to use his hollow powers to fight now…thats going to be cool

    Man, renji has been Pathetic ever since he lost to Ichigo during the Aizen is bad what?! arc. He was pretty sweet then.

    I sware if killing the Zanpaktou kills the Shinigami’s chance of getting it back, then this will be horrible emotional “I love you sword!” train wreck. I hope what one of the above posters thought is the case, That Muramasa just replicates the Zanpaktou and creates doubt causing issues with releasing powers.

    Freaking love Hollow Ichigo, I want to see more sword Acrobatic ass stomping like that. And that voice. like when he talks and it just kinda echo’s like some creepy old man talking through a water tube.. love it!

    I can’t wait to see Hyourinmaru, was always my favourite Zanpaktou, and Toshiro being my fav Captain!

    Episode wasn’t bad, But I really wish Anime/Manga shounen would skip the whole “Well, we’ll spend two weaks testing each others powers.. SHOTGUN I start winning first! then We’ll get a bit more serious, through in a few close calls. Then on the 6 week.. you’ll insult my mother and ill go blow my top and SSj9 your ass. it will be great! and we’ll do it with all the other captains too!”

    Rome, that doesn’t fit because Muramasa said that he killed his owner. Also Yoruichi had her zanpaktou taken from her and she was banished from the Soul Society. That isn’t it. It also wouldn’t be Kenpachi’s because A) They wouldn’t tell anime fans and forget about the manga. B) It’s only a filler arc and is not part of any of the main story C) They would not have muramasa kill Kenpachi in a filler. D) Kenpachi is too kick ass to be killed by that emo basterd. Concerning Muramasa’s powers I do believe that he does call upon a shinigami’s zanpaktou telling them to follow their own instinct. However, once a shingami and their respective zanpaktou have the same “instinct” then the shingami regains their sword’s abilities. Example, Renji, who regained his sword by saying that he wants to get stronger to defeat Byakuya which is the same instinct as Zabimaru (To get stronger and stronger). Therefore, maybe after Rukia recovers she will be able to use her sword again because she set her zanpaktou free which is what it wanted. Then they will probably have to battle in order to fully regain their zanpaktou. I’ve got to say though, this is probably the greatest filler I have ever seen.

    at 0:40 we see a released zanpaktou(woman with a skull on here forehead) without her shinigami counterpart, and i don’t remember seeing here in the episodes (and too lazy to check).

    Any guesses to whom this zanpaktou belongs? The skull reminds me of Kenpachi’s skull reiatsu but that would be a wack spoiler..

    This is the best filler arc i think ive ever seen on any animie finally some action and none of the usual dicking about taking 10 episodes just to discover that wait the bad guy is actually bad and that hes about to destroy the world oh shit wheres ichigo?!? wait hes currently occupied shiiiiiitttt! thats ok renji is here to get his ass wooped for another 5 eps ichigo can then go speak to old man zangetsu n go sick on ever1’s ass n save the world yet again.

    Cant really see it being kenpachis zanpaktou as tbh think the rest of the shinigami world might have noticed kenpachi having a big fuk off battle with his reiatsu also does kenpachi even have a zanpaktou? or is it jus lying dormant? tbh if kenpachi did have a zanpaktou might be a tad unfair on the rest of the shinigami as hes already crazy strong.
    But i can see how this is going to end big fight where every 1 needs to overcome there shinigami and then ichigo n renji kill the big bad monster!
    but def the best filler ive seen to date

    They say that alot of people are dead, and yet they always seem to come back, or not have actually died. Yoruichi, has never carried a zanpaktou in the anime or the manga. If anyone can show me where she has one, I’ll be glad to check it out. She saved Kisike without drawing any type of weapon in Turning Back the Pendulum. It can also fit in with the cannon and this arc. Anyways, I think that muramasa thought he might have killed her, when she probably just set him free and faked being dead. Faking death happens all the time in Bleach, in the manga and the anime.

    i think i know what this arc is about. muramasa and captain commander set this whole “zanpakto vs shinigami” thing because he wants all the shinigami to get stronger like what renji is doing. he wants everyone to learn to get stronger without their zanpakto (like kenpachi). so once its all over and they fight side by side with their zanpakto again, they would be twice as strong as before! its more like a “get stronger” arc.

    Another thing that I was thimking is, that if it’s not Yoruichi’s zanpaktou, then it might be Kenpatchi’s. Kenpatchi had that sword before he became a shinigami. While the rest of the shinigami were issued their zanpaktou. Muramasa could have killed it’s original owner, after which Kenpatchi found the sword. He has never known the swords name and never bothered to. It would explain why his sword is dormant, it has no reatsu, and he has never relied on its power. Those are my two theories, either Yoruichi faked her death at one point and se her zanpaktou free, which explains why she doesn’t have on, or that Muramasa killed it’s former owner after which Kenpatchi found it, explaining why he had the sword before he became a shinigami.

    Kenpatchi sword has never been released. Renji’s zanpaktou doesn’t look like the one that his zanpaktou is using, because it hasn’t been released. The only zanpaktou that is already in it’s released form is Ichigo’s. Until a zanpaktou is released it’s still just a sword. All the zanpaktou are using their respective swords in there released form.

    I agree. And I do like that theory, it is very plausable considering the fact that no one knows where Capt.Comm. is. However, I think the theory that Karaglen came up with is a possibility too. Well, the creating doubt in their shinigami part, not the duplicating zanpakto part.

     The zanpakto is created along with the shinigami so the power is origonally the shinigami’s. The zanpakto is the enbodyment of the persons true self, there instincts and whatever drives them. Fear and dout keep people from seeing their own true self so until they overcome these emotions they can’t use their power…

     I think the idea that the Captain Commander is somehow involved is plausible. Why would he disappear? Also Byakuya and Kenpachi disappear also. I think it may actually be a test so that shinigami will be stronger and they will have the same instincts as their respective zanpaktou. That is why once Renji and Zabimaru had the same/similar instinct he gained the ability to use his zanpaktou’s power’s without having his zanpaktou back. The theory that Muramasa is kenpachi’s is immposible because the creators would not reveal that to anime fans and forget the manga fans. Plus the swordslook completely different. The zanpaktou have their swords in shikai form already. Kenpachi’s sword itself is in permanent shikai form because of his immense spiritual power like ichigo’s. Rome, it cannot be Yoruichi’s because yoruichi’s is shown at one point having a zanpaktou however she hardly uses it and has never used it in the anime and manga because she relies on using Hoho, shunpo, shunko, etc. All captains and vice captains have zanpaktou. Her sword looks like a kodashi or wakizashi, which is totally different then muramasa’s. My proof is when she uses her zanpaktou in Soifon’s flashback in the first arc and she has her sword on her back and she kills a couple of hollow without using shikai or bankai. The sword is very small compared to muramasa’s.

     Muramasa might have been Isshin’s( Ichigo’s father) zanpakuto. After all he did lose his shinigami powers, and based on this episode since Renji released Zabimaru, it could be possible that Isshin got his powers back without actually having his zanpakuto’s soul within his body. I know Muramasa claimed that he killed his owner, but Isshin lives in the real world now. Im sure every shinigami that knew him from when he was a captain thinks he is dead.
