Haha, yea it was an epic fail, and you cant compare bleach to fma. Bleach’s story line is very original, even though fma was the first to use alchemy, there are others like busou renkin for example. Shippuuden can push for about 200 more episodes give or take a couple filler arks, but Bleach can keep going, as long as new threats arrive. Aizen for example, nobody saw that coming. BLEACH RULES !

If you pay close attention near the end of the episode it sounded like the Soul Society already knew about Ikkaku’s Bankai. With regards to an earlier post- i agree, Ikkaku was being selfish by not using his bankai and i think this may be what wakes him up.

The issue is the same with Yumichika Ayasegawa, similar to ikkaku in that he wont release his shikai unless the opponent dies by their hands-hence if you payed close attention to Ayasegawa’s fight, he said that no one “alive” has seen his proper shikai release. IMO Ikkaku was being an idiot, tho every warrior has their own resolve and reasons for doing what they do.

The Ikkaku issue aside, I’m glad to see past neglected Captains finally getting to show off. We never do actually get to see Kommamaru’s Bankai in action the first time he used it on Kenpachi, and now that I have seen it in action, I wish I could’ve seen it go against Kenpachi. It would have been an epic fight.

For all of you who keep saying… ‘Why didn’t Ikkaku use his Bankai’? Back when Ikkaku released his Bankai the first time, he said he didn’t want to release his Bankai because they would put him into the Captain class if they knew he had that potential. He said he doesn’t want that to happen because he wants to stay under the command of Kenpachi because he wants to fight Kenpachi again someday.

…so it was just me then.
Holy crap the art sucked in this. Not really in quality, but they just couldn’t decide on a size for that whale. At 14:07 we see that his forearms are about the same width of a house. Before, at 11:02, we saw that his hands are about the same diameter as his forearms. Finally, at 11:28 we can see that Komamura could hug his arm. So either (1) Komamura is large enough to hug a house, (2) the guy shrunk his arms down to attack, or (3) the artists don’t give a shit.
