    Halcyon Days=A sea bird which lays its eggs on the beach in the middle of winter. During the period when the Halcyon is laying and hatching its eggs, the seas are very calm and there is fine weather. That is where the expression “Halcyon days” comes from

    i checked Halcyon on wikipedia and it says it comes from some greek legend and means golden or peaceful. So she was saying good bye golden days

    she means shes saying goodbye from here like childhood life b4 going on to the hollows land … -_-|| sry for being rude and all … it just that what some dudes here said.. it messes up the vibe of the moment ^^

    nightrunner the guys are right….Halcyon days have their roots from a greek legend and mean calm/golden etc. nowadays in halcyon days during winter the weather gets calm and some birds hatch their eggs.

    anyway the episode was great and what orihime said at the end was very nice and sad also.

    well at the next episodes ichigo wants to go to huego mundo to save rukia but it is forbidden from soul society. so he decides to go alone. chad will also go to help and urahara will tell ichida that inoue is in danger so he will also go. then rukia and renji will show up…by having the blessing of byakuya !!

    First off i typoed and put halcyon days and not halcyon by itself. Secondly a halcyon is a bird (http://www.blueroebuck.com/halcyon__kingfisher.htm) .
    And lastly halcyon days is a reference to the time when halcyon birds lay there eggs which is days when the sea is calm and peaceful weather. And possible the thing about alcyone not sure. But next time u wanna laugh at someone check ur own ignorance pls.

    While you are right about the halcyon being a bird, put it into context. What is being referred to is the peaceful / happy days. You guys looked it up but forgot to put it into context. And there is no need to be insulting everyone about their way of looking at it, it was obviously left up to us to interpret the meaning, otherwise they would have explained it themselves.

    i have a feeling there’s gonna be a long wait until something actually happens. It’s probably gonna be 20 something more episodes until they actually go to that hollow place and do something. because they have to finish their training and talk about what they’re gonna do. and then there’s gonna be some amazingly difficult thing they have to do be able to get the hollow place. Before they go though there’s got be at least like 5 episodes about the quincy kid and his powers, and then he’s gonna go against his fathers wishes and hang out with ichigo again. And there’s got be at least 2 episodes with every person ichigo fights. So basically this is gonna take forever. =(

    I agree with Tartaro so romantic it would be so sweet to see them together Orihime and Ichigo though Rukia is kinda dead so they can’t really be together. Too funny Halcyon means some shit about Birds LOL. But damn is Grimmjow Jaggerjack and Ulquirra hot the both of them!!!DAMN!!SEXY!!
