Movie released today nationwide in theaters. The film is a computer-animated 3-D film based on the long-running Japanese franchise of the same name by Osamu Tezuka. The film also features the voices of Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy, Donald Sutherland, and Nicolas Cage (Backround information Astro Boy is Japanese manga series first published in 1952 and television program first broadcast in Japan in 1963. The story follows the adventures of a fictional robot named Astro Boy and a selection of other characters along the way.)

LesserJester you who are posting a number in your comment are saying that you are 25 years old or older? jajaja don´t make me laugh. they did a good job making anime like characters, but I don´t expect similarities with the original plot or anything, nevertheless it looks like it will be a funny movie to see.

bulletkeddy is right. Astoboy was the first original anime. It pretty much paved the way to what we see today, and might I add was one of the BEST animes ever.

The first time I saw this trailer was in theaters and I thought “OH SCORE MEGAMAN”. It makes me cry.
Well at least the stayed true to the character design. I just wish it could be as graphic as its source material. Still looks way better than any other anime adaptation I’ve seen.
Yeah, the butt machine guns were in the original manga too, the anime I have not seen. This upcoming movie might be a good kid’s movie but the real “Astro Boy resurrection” for all the people that grew up since watching the show as kids, is definitely Naoki Urasawa’s “Pluto”
All the kids out there, please buy Pluto as the volumes are translated into english, you will think it’s not interesting at all and stop reading at first, but keep those books safe and read them when you get older.
You’ll be very, very thankful, for Pluto is one of the greatest stories of our time. It is not entertainment for kids, it’s a work of art that’ll leave a mark on your soul forever, in a good way.
